charles_nz: Just a few timely reminders about the facts of the situation:

1. The killer was NOT a New Zealander. This was a case of people, who are primarily immigrants to this country being murdered by a man who is also an immigrant to this country.

2. The killer was NOT a right-winger, nor a Christian. He may, or may not, have had hostility to Muslims (he has apparently said derogatory things about them, but also spent time in Pakistan where he posted about how lovely the people were). But what is for certain is that he had absolutely no political agenda here. None. Zero. His "manifesto" says the regime he identifies with the most is Communist China! This guy is all over the place with his ideas, and we must be careful NOT to buy into the phoney narrative that he is a "right winger". The mainstream media are spouting this line incessantly, without any evidence to back it up. It's easy, it's simple, and it fits their left-wing agenda.

3. It is NOT only Muslims who were targeted. This man also shot at non-Muslims who were walking down the footpath and driving past in cars. This has been under-reported, sadly.

Are you talking about the White Australia Policy? That was the basis of their immigration policy for many years, but was abandoned many decades ago. Australia is even more cosmopolitan now than New Zealand.
