asked the bearded man with a cheeky smile on his face and a wink in his eye?
“I don´t know about that”, I replied... hmmmm....
“But, what´s stopping you, you are retired and have time on your hands? And, by the way, the money is very good”.
Ah, money, money, that was my biggest concern as I am not really allowed to earn any money – not officially anyway! – unless it´s handed under the table so to speak!
So, I had an idea, why can´t I offer my services for free, since it´s a job I very much enjoy doing and I would be doing it for humanity?
Ok, says the bearded man," first bring me your CV and then we´ll discuss the money, and the hours"
........ fast forward....
Today I went to see the bearded man who seemed very happy to see me. I handed my CV in and he was very impressed. But, he still insisted that he needed me a few times a week because teachers of foreign languages were hard to find and I was the most qualified – and available – that he could find.
Moral of the story: This is all about being in the right place, at the right time, and with the right people. I was helping some French friends to enroll in some Spanish classes at the local school when I was offered a job as a teacher for some little kids who could hardly put two words together. Since I didn´t want to be held responsible for their illiteracy, I accepted, starting in November.
Now, for those with wicked thoughts, sorry to have disappointed you!

I was wondering where your story was going Dani but i had a fare idea you were provoking abit .. There's no harm in making a bit of extra money under the table or off the books so to say, or not giving the govt their cut... i do it all the time here, and you will learn the craft of dealing with such employers.. me i push the bounders all the time and pretty much now i make at least half the conditions of my employment, i work when i it suits me.. not have the employer calling all the shots..

daniela777: Now...I've had another job offer...
To train some vicious dogs!
But not from the bearded man this time.
This a true story: an English lady wants me to train her pit bull terrier. .. And maybe others too.
Are you going to take on training that dog ? and what does she want you to teach it ? pit bulls are pretty scrappy dogs, it could be a mission training one of them.

Obedience training of course! He's not a circus dog!
He's only a 9 month old pup. She's coming tomorrow.
What Do you think I should teach him for the first lesson? To catch a ball or ...to juggle?
michaelright: of course I know that ,,, although without doubt your thread was written and designed to net those who thought otherwise, which proves your naughty thoughts,,,
Well..you've got to bring a bit of fun sometimes. Threads have been too boring lately.
Who hasn't got naughty thoughts Michael? I know you're not a saint that's for sure!

Had a little think about it Dani and maybe teach it to sit and stay first, there are a lot of things to teach a dog.. one of the most important things is to teach it to obey voice commands, there is nothing worst than having your dog bolting after a cat and running out on the road.. or having to chase after your dog in a park because its got no ears... and pit bulls are a fighting breed so teaching it to tolerate other dogs and animals (cats) mainly in cities, would be the best for the dog and the owner..
