Dan has a NDIS package and my role is to coordinate his supports and services.
It was difficult to get clarification around this off the internet but in calling the NDIA today, I was advised that there is a team that handles this side of things ,in terms of people who are incarcerated.
I am hoping we can continue to support him in some way, shape or form

I guess it's the nature of the industry we work in but of course you never see these things coming.
It rips my guts out to think of Dan in gaol, and his poor family.
And the family of the man who died, it's just a dreadful, sad situation all round.
Sorry to hear. In Canada some people who commit crimes go to a mental health facility rather than jail. The call it Forensics. Just understand this is not your fault

serene56: One of the people I support in my role in disabilities had a violent altercation with one of his housemates over the weekend and the other person died as a result.. The person I support has been charged with murder, I'm devastated and shocked to the core. It wasn't meant to be like this.
Thanks to those of you who have responded and provided me with support since this dreadful situation came to light earlier in the week
As the days have passed I have made many calls and found out where Daniel is incarcerated.
I'm currently navigating through the process that's involved with accessing a video visit and hoping to soon let Daniel know that he's not alone, we are still supporting him
