galrads: You see in these united states we still have a freedom of speech. And for some funny reason, when Europeans bash the usa i sometimes remind them of the truth which is basically to point out how hypocritical they are.

welI don't think anyone can deny the old Gal started this thread and designed it to be provocative to the English, who are indeed his ancestors.

I am surprised he doesn't think it will not upset someone

Yet he consistently denigrates the Islanders of England revealing himself as a bigot and not very bright.

Carry on Gal, you won't win because you don't want to, deep down.sad flower

Italy was one of the European countries with colonies in Africa during the modern period. Lasting from 1890 to 1941, Italian colonialism in Africa included the present day countries of Libya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia.

Italian colonization can be divided into two periods. The first begins in 1890, with the Italian colonization of Eritrea, and continues with the acquisition of Libya and Somalia, and the invasion and occupation of Ethiopia. The second period begins around 1937, when the occupation of Ethiopia was complete and when Fascist racial policy became more explicit and extreme.

I can somewhat appreciate what you are saying rodplum. However, at the same time my american-italian father served in the US army air corps 82 airborne in wwii and jumped out of perfectly good plane over naples Italy. He was hit only once by ground gunfire with a clean shot in and out of one of a leg, recovered and remained in service until he returned home in jan 1946 on the aircraft carrier Wasp (cvs-18) during operation magic carpet.

no disrespect intended towards your fathers service...
However by the time your father jumped out of a perfectly good plane over Italy. Italy had already joined the allies e.g. on October 13, 1943, the government of Italy declared war on its former Axis partner Germany and joined the battle on the side of the Allies. laugh wave

Yes, that is true about Italy declaring war on Germany by that time, but, it did not lead to the strategic results everyone wanted and they learned quickly that there was no soft underbelly but instead a tough old gut to fight. Actually, I think my dad jumped over Naples around the first of October 1943. But that mission was not successful.

Nevermind. We support Trump so that we can say nevermind. We want to be like the non-whites who say nevermind. Only white people mind about things and nobody else minds about things.

And that's the point. When the shoe is on the coloured foot terror and slaughter will return. To carry so much guilt when the developing world is remorseless.

That's so true.

When you spend some time in Asia - your perspective of the world dramatically changes and you see how foolish the behavour of some European countries is. They constantly go on and on about feeling guilty or ashamed about this and that and how they suppose to punish each other for this and for that and go on apologising and forcing others to apologise - while the rest of the world - the majority of this planet, the countries and cultures rising - don't care. Neither about the past, nor about the present. They have no intention to allow anyone to force feelings of guilt and shame onto them and don't care about "European values".

The more western you go, the more delusional people seem to be. Instead of seeing the reality, they are putting their heads deeper and deeper in the sand and more and more fight for "values" that even they themselves don't respect and follow. I talked to people from Western Europe who went on and on about "freedom, human rights, equality", etc. and at the same time were full of arrogance and were actually putting down everyone who didn't belong to their small bubble (people from Southern Europe, people from Eastern Europe - not to mention Asia, Africa...). Where is the equality if someone thinks that they are better and more valuable than others? Words are so meaningless if the behaviour shows otherwise...

The people from Eastern Europe care and know about their politics.

Unlike the West which is spoon-fed.

I don't know enough about Eastern or Western politics to comment ...

But walking one's talk applies to just about everything in life , not just politics ...

You trying to start a fight again, my politics are hot and spicy, like the women I prefer.

Still want me to walk the talk
