Not long ago I jibber jabbered about my friend Irene who is 72..having hokey pokey with a 52 year old man whom she is besotted with..Always having excuses for him when she found out he had cheated on her a couple of times..Always this is the last chance..At Aquafit today I asked for an update because she made it clear no more chances last time we talked..To be honest I was blown away woman that age do the hokey pokey..Put a smile on my dial as I thought there's hope for me yet
This time Irene said we're finished..Had found out he had been seeing another woman for 14 months.. He said if you want to wait around for me you can because this woman is always taking off.. I said why aren't I bloody surprised..I said please ignore him when he sends a text..She stuttered saying well if he wants to take me out that's okay he can spend his money on me.
She said I feel so low..I have no self esteem at the moment..She started to cry..I took her to the spa other side of the pool for privacy..I said you're not interested in him spending money on you.. said you're using that as an excuse to still have him on your life because you're in love with this man.
To cut a long story short I dried her eyes gave her a pep talk..I mentioned online dating..It was like she knew nothing about them..I explained how it works..I feel when you're in your late sixties seventies the percentage is less when it comes to men playing the field on the net..Of course I explained there is still a chance men near her age can be cheats but I felt the percentage was less.
.So this coming Saturday after the gym I'm going to Irene's home where I will set up an account for..A site I feel she will be more compatible with..I will go through her photo's as well..I will show & explain how it all works..I will navigate Irene through this site I have in mind for her..Irene & I are so opposite..She's very quiet & reserved yet for some reason we gel nicely. I will keep that in mind setting up her profile..No bloody novels where a man falls asleep reading her profile..No bloody demands and all that BS either.
I personally believe a profile should represent one's personality..I will do exactly that when setting up Irene's profile..Username???..Irene is a very classy reserved lady so I will give a lot of thought to the username..Here comes the fun part
I will be her body guard..I have a huge very busy coffee shop in mind for her meets..I will sit up the back with a book..Yes I'm a bookworm..Hard to believe hey?

I think so too, but they'll both be unhappy, and get back together in a few weeks. We have seen this kind of thing play out, time and time again. It's probably pointless asking the Queen or Prime minister to intervene, but I think the minister for communications should be informed.
