My feelings exactly. I'll listen and learn from anybody, but I don't like personal attacks just because someone has a differing viewpoint. I choose to ignore certain arguments, just because it's not worth the aggravtion. And it's real easy to ignore ppl online, lots easier than real life, so I just stay out of it mostly. Like I said before, I'm here for fun, had enough arguing in my life.

Don't many of us do this though. It is fine for us to say we know the right way and to take a dig at others but are we really acting any differently. Everyone has an opinion. When I see people judging others harshly, I have a question for them....Do you judge yourself so harshly? This helps me to allow them to have their opinion but to realize that I have a different opinion but I choose not to express it the same way they are by judging and criticizing. But I'm not perfect and I do still react at times. I guess my point is when we see people behave or give opinions that we don't like we can choose to see them as our teachers. Maybe they are less informed about certain things but judging is not an entitlement that I have and they don't. It is no better for me than it is for them. It is not a loving action. Nobody is right all the time.

One of the things i have noticed is that there are many who are saying they are not willing to "argue" or want to avoid the "drama" in the forums with certain topics (and myself included...ummm...most days anyways!laugh )

However, the topics that become "controversial" are the ones that people are "passionate" about...and though some statements and comments may be "uninformed"...it is how that person feels at the moment...but how else will their views perhaps change or become "informed" if the "opposing" view sits back and finds the topic/people "unworthy" of their time??

If one cannot "bother" with the ignorance sometimes portrayed, then who exactly are you saving your arguments for??...the ones that do not challenge what you say?

I think, for the most part, they are saving their comments for what they consider to be a real discussion. A forum where you have one person saying "XXX is completely evil and everyone else is wrong, and no one can ever tell me different..." and then just insulting or flaming anyone who disagrees, is not a real discussion. More like a narcissist raving. Those are the kind I wouldn't waste my time on.
Did that make enough sense to clarify, or do I need that mocha this morning?rolling on the floor laughing

Hey Rainbow! Hope all is well with you! I understand congratulations are in order as you received a nice job promotion! Good for you!
Moved back to Europe; re-activated citizenships, as most countries have changed the laws toback to the pre war years. Many Americans want out and are taking advantage of them; some , if you can prove a relative ad it , up to 4 generations ago, you may be elligible.
Better Health care, mostly free, much better free schools, etc. , better social safety nets, much better way of life, more secure, etc. Cheers!

Just glad to see you back. Yes, I got the name tag and was proud to wear it. As yu know with any new job promotion comes more responsibility. I like looking out for the old folks because I am becoming one of them. I am learning how privacy, dignity and respect can be important. Communication is very important because with Alzheimer's especially some of them freak out easily. Some of them just want to know what you are doing to them. Explaining the process to them even makes some of them want to help you. Quality of life even when it is short is a major factor. I have always been curious to the why of things. It might be partly due to my own immaturity. Growing up I was told don't worry about the why just do as I tell you. That was always hard for me to buy. I have had to look at things from the resident's point of view. It makes a lot of things make more sense. I really feel where this is where I am supposed to be since I am learning so many new things. What is strange to me is I should have learned many of the things in Kindergarten. I am glad you are having it better. Just the interaction between the women because there are more women as residents and staff is very fascinating to me. Women live longer. I really have a problem in not calling them by terms of endearment just like the female staff. It is like a big family situation at the nursing home. One lady thinks I am a soldier. Another one thinks I am her husband. That has become important to me in the way they relate to me. It is harder than hell to keep a professional detachment especially when they pass on.

yeah, I do the same thing. But I do try to understand that everything is not black or white and there is usually plenty of room for different views. Except for people who are easily led astray, they are usually followers and usually very righteous ones at that. They don't seem to think for themselves or outside the box at all.
