I was getting ready for work this morning and I was cooking food for my dog. (Yes, he gets homemade food). Anyway, I wasn't quite finished. He looked in his empty bowl, and looked back at me as to say....."WOOOOO-MAN...WHERE'S MYYYYYY FOOOOD!!!!!"
Does anyone else have their animals communicate with them?
I have an aquarium , my fish cram their noses up so tight against the glass waiting to be fed, they look like bulldogs ! They can all be so pathetic especially my large anglefish !
each of my animals-dogs and cats have a certain way they ask to go out...
but after years-everyone can learn t communicate i think.
necessity is always there and desire grows- especially if one is dependent, as animals are or spoiled-as my animals are-LOL they have learned how to ask for, manipulate or bully their way in to getting what they want!
I had 30 sled dogs for 10 years and I loved them all. Each one had diffrent personalities(dogonalaties) and expressed there ways in unique ways. critters do have feelings and show affections. which gives them there own qualities and ways of expressions. You just gotta watch the way they communicate nice thread
My dogs favourite treat is red licorice...So imagine one day my surprise when she was in the kitchen barking and I thought she wanted out...Nope...Food or water???? Nope....She was sitting by the cupboard where she saw me put the licorice and that's what she wanted!

What's scary is I had a dog that the family swears, spoke words. I mean to the point my mom didn't like my dog being around her dog, cause, after a visit with each other, her dog would say words. No lie.
I have a cat who won't drink her water from her bowl. She jumps up on the bathroom sink and stands, with front paws in the sink, back paws on the counter (funny picture) and waits......turns to me and then to the faucet, until I turn it on for her to drink from. (I also keep water in a dish there....thank goodness she drinks from it when I'm not at home to turn on her faucet.
Missy was introduced to a harness as a kitten. (Animals are not allowed to wander free here in our mobil park). As soon as she hears me stir in bed, she jumps down, runs to the front door and actually cries until I let her out. She enjoys her long tether and sits there watching the world go by.
Don't know what I'd do without the unconditional love of household pets. I also have the added bonus of the horses, dogs and cats at my son's farm, nearby.
My two dogs are so funny! They "gang" up on me when they want out, something to eat/drink and when they want to play...Especially my Rotty. He is such a hoot! When he just wants all of 'Mom's' attention.he will do his "Rott-Rott" dance...it is a riot!!! Afterwards he will usually jump in my lap while I'm sitting in my recliner... And he definetly lets me know when it's time to go to bed...It seems as if he can tell time...because every night he is ready for us to go to bed...
Had a cockatiel once called baby.....she never shut up.......
In the morning i would take her cover off her cage....and go sit down to watch tv....she would fly over....land on the sofa behind me...and start to "human beat box"....which i taught her to my mothers annoyance...
Then she would hop down onto my lap....and say..."helloooo baby"....and nod her head up and down.......then....without fail...she would terrorise our cat Bedsox....and chase him round the living room....and if he wasnt around...she would torment our dog Rocky.....who she used to drive nuts....pecking his paws...... while he tried getting out of her way.....
Rocky was clever.....you had to spell O...U...T.....because if you mentioned the word out....he would run to the kitchen....grab his lead...and stand at the back door howling OOOUUUUUTTTT......
We have our 15 lb. tabby cat, he's Captain, and he's great. Last Sunday, my heart went out to a little girl, with club feet and she's a tabby also. I came home, talked it over with my son, and went back and adopted her from LoveAStray. Captain has now adopted her also.
She is frail, small and always looks tired, but she plays and eats well and knows her litter box is in the basement.
Does any one know about kittens with a weepy eye? Other than that, she seems to be doing great.
