"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."[H. L. Mencken]
Not bad; it certainly would be a welcome change from today's grab all you can, as fast as you can and "F**k everyone!" attitudes. When was the last time anyone heard of any corruption in the Swiss governmental system, or Andorra, even Lichtenstein that has enough hidden secret bank accounts as or even more than Switzerland. Those people have a totally , almost alien set of values and morality compared to most who run the various governments.
Sort of a Legalized Civil War? My Gang can do anything to your Gang, provided my gang is bigger than your Gang, then your Gang gets bigger than my Gang and your Gang..............
Another sobering Thought,to tell someone when they clamor for Handouts again: "Remember That a Government Big Enough to Give You Everything You Want is Also Big Enough to Take Away Everything You Have ".
The primary tool of a con artist is the inherint desire in people to get more than they actually deserve. You get what you pay for. If you're only out for what you need or can pay for, and allow others the same latitude, then there is no way someone can manipulate you into giving them something they don't really deserve. Keep that in mind at the polls the next time you vote.

Hate to burst your bubble, but have you never wondered how Munich got rebuilt so fast and so well after WWII. Keep in mind it was firebombed. Not a building was left intact. Morality in Swiss banks??? Guess where a lot of loot from both sides got deposited during the war. Why do you think both the Allies and Germans did not blow the tracks going to Switzerland, it was because they were Neutral?

Government is an abdication of responsibility by the individual, and the state has seen to it that this is the way people can be controlled and form a fuctioning society.
Personally i think i would have been far better off living in 12th century Japan.
