All that worrying that I did for nothing! Things are still a little blurry right now, which is to be expected for the first day, so I apologize if I make typos (1 day excuse!). My eyes are still a little dilated and I have on these stellar cool black plastic sunglasses on right now (for the first couple days to wear during the day) and this super stellar cool clear swim google type shades to wear at night.
BUT I'm sitting here typing without my contacts or glasses. That was probably the easiest surgery I have been through. In and out within a matter of minutes and absolutely no pain. Weird experience though. Just laying there holding "George" the stuffed monkey they give you to hold, looking up at this red light and hearing this sound that was like static electricity and seeing something that looked like little lightning waves around the red light for a few seconds.
But darn if I couldn't see that clock when I sat up. Anyway, I've joined the world of people without corrective lenses! Plus the doctor gave me a rose, which is so pretty.
I called my mom when I got home and she was like "You're home? Already? Wow! That was fast!!" I'm still a little bit over relaxed. They gave me valium, which that's a little bit of a weird feeling.
LMAO, "I can see clearly now the rain has gone. I can see all obstacles in my way".
Anyway, much to do, so I must be off. I will talk to you all later!
I had that done back in '05...without the valium. My mom did the driving for me and said my reactions were the same as when I first got glasses...lol I can see!! My vision has slipped just a tad since then, but not enough to really warrant glasses (I wasn't jumping up & down at the difference...lol) But it is nice to be able to see my legs when I shave...lol So enjoy life without glasses!!
That is excellent! I have to wear my glasses from the minute I wake up until the minute I go to sleep. Blind as a bat! I was scared of having my eyes done, but you have just stopped all my fears!
You'll also catch yourself reaching for your glasses, or making the motion to push them up your nose....don't remember how long it took me to break that habit....lol
Already its amazing! Hours later and I feel like I have my contacts in. Things are really clear (just a smidgeon of blur around the edges) and it feels like I've just left my contacts in for days. Eyes are a little dry and a little grainy feeling, a little bloodshot, but I can see just like I had contacts in.
Like hrt said, I have already went to the bathroom thinking that I need to take my contacts out and got to the mirror and its like "DUH! They're not in". It's just habit as I go to get ready for bed at night. I take my lenses out, wash up, change, and check my mail a final time before crashing out.
Tomorrow is going to be the real killer. Every morning I reach over to the bedside table to grab my glasses. This time when they're not there, its not because Mojo (my cat) has chased the case off the table to some place (usually under the bed).
Well, good night all! Thank you all for the support.
