There are decent women out there, but they sometimes are scared and wounded from the men that don't appreciate them. They end up broken hearted because they give all and everything to some dumb guy who promises to be there everything only to use them up and kick them to the curb. I know this goes the same way for decent me, so yeah they are there you just have to coax it out of thm sometimes so hang in there I am sure you will find the right one for you.

I've been hurt and used as a doormat from my ex-husband and from a couple of former loves. I took a couple of workshops that helped save me from going down a quick road of self-destruction. They literally saved my life. I learned about how to forgive those who had hurt me and to put my painful past behind me.
Like so many of the other folks have said, love sneaks up on you when you least expect it. The best thing you can do is learn to put your pain behind you back on that sad grunge train so that you don't carry it over into any new relationship.
