oslojente: "Nitpicking is the act of removing nits (the eggs of lice, generally head lice) from the host's hair. As the nits are cemented to individual hairs with louse saliva, they cannot be removed with lice combs and, before modern chemical methods were invented, the only options were to shave all the host's hair or to pick them free one by one.

This is a slow and laborious process, as the root of each individual hair must be examined for infestation. It was largely abandoned as modern chemical methods became available; however, as lice populations can and do develop resistance, manual nitpicking is still often necessary.

As nitpicking inherently requires fastidious, meticulous attention to detail, the term has become appropriated to describe the practice of meticulously searching for minor, even trivial errors in detail (often referred to as "nits" as well), and then criticising them. "Nitpicker" in this sense was often used after 1951, predominantly in the United States." says wikipedia

Konigsberg: Hmmm .... you mean like they were raised by a pack of wild animals, in a woods? ... Don't they have own self-esteem that normally Nature grants to all human beings.
Awesome thread Dio ..... DIO would be proud of you

Oh!YEah!! Nature grants many humans many valuable assets and insights ... However, from my observations of "human nature", mostly in the UK as an adult working in education, I have watched "the results" of what "a human can do to another" ... Unfortunately, it made no difference what "Nature had granted" some of the kids in the school I worked at, because they had also been granted with parents (or lack of them) who seem to make it their mission to "erode" all of it ...

Hi Rusty!! Sounds like you enjoyed it!!! Good for you!! I am rather pleased to say the little village I am at near Malaga doesn't seem to appeal to the "lager lout" type of person and all the Brits who are around are rather great people like artists, painters, mediums, shamans, writers, musicians etc... All pretty well integrated in the village ... It's great to live amongst them as well as the Spanish folk who have welcome me with open arms (they are rather impressed that I speak fluent Spanish although never lived here AND with similar accent to theirs as my parents are from the south and I was born just round the corner!!!)

PS:
Hope you are now feeling wayyyyyyyyyyyy better in your own skin cheers

Yes, thanks - I am feeling wonderful........... and I got on great with loads of Spanish people even though my Spanish is almost 100% 'zilch'

(mind you I learn fast, and a ready smile and the offer to give young Spanish ladies piggy backs up and down the beach is just so 'nice' of me, innit?)

cool

True it is! ... there is always a missing link in a course of Evolution.

Sad thing is all those co-called parents (I wish they will stay childless forever) once were a kids too.

Good point, woman ... Can't argue on this one grin wine

Dear Thread,

I have a confession to make... There are two ladies in the Who's Viewed Me list back to back, both with underwear shots in their profiles. The first is aged 40 from Malta, and the next is from Canada aged 36.....

I didn't get put off when I looked at either of them...I want to meet them both, and make a Dio sandwich.

diogenes: I like mature women.

I like lingerie.

I like to look at mature women wearing lingerie.

But....

When I see mature women wearing lingerie in their profile, on the dating site....something about that puts me off a little bit.

I guess I'm prejudiced.

yeah!- leave something to the imagination, It's a bit like skipping the starter to get straight to the pudding. better to take your time and enjoy it alllaugh
