It helps.

Doesn't mean that the woman's chore is to be tied to the kitchen sink thou. It's good if both partners know how to feed themselves decently.

We have a saying in local custom here, that basically says

One way to a man's heart is trou his stomach.

So.......

cool

omans02: its not good for me, can't stand coming from a hard day working and diving into the kitchen while the woman is on vacation sleeping all day

I love cooking, and I don't have anyone preparing a meal for me when I come home, usually after working a 10hr day dunno But then, if I really don't feel up to it if I'm really tired, I just take a detour for maybe a yummy Thai dish, or anything quick and tasty that someone else prepares for me while I sit back enjoying a glass of wine wine

Agree though, that if either partner has time on their hands during the day, it is only thoughtful for the 'rested' one, to maybe prepare a meal for, and generally pamper, their hardworking sweetheart waiter grin

I love cooking.....as a bachelor, I have learnt to savour the macho part of it...the way that custom-porsche-designed tin-opener just slices thru metal...the smell of fresh fish as it get artistically dumped on a plate, and that oh!-so french savoir-faire way I have of sprinkling soy sauce and balscamico all over it with my pinky sticking in the air........
heck, who needs a woman in the kitchen with so much talent on my own??....

.....and let's not forget the utter liberation of cooking in your boxers....heck, who neeeds an apron??

...anyone for tuna salad???

Why does a woman need to be good in the kitchen to be considered "useful"?

That kind of thinking went out with the ark......

Does a man have to be good in the kitchen to be considered "useful"?

Surely whoever likes to, or is good at something, just does it? Equal division of labour.

How can you question the irrefutable logic in this???...women have belonged in the kitchen since time immemorial, just as men have belonged in the battlefied, bushfield, corporate field...why are we still fighting about this??...and so what anyway??...you don't want to make lunch today dear??....no sweat, don't worry yer cotton-pickin' lil' socks about it... I'll get it.....but u get the dishes after, right??....

Ha-dee-har....::smirk::

You actually hit on something here. Gadgets!!!

I think men are more willing to go in the kitchen now because there are gadgets for everything. And there are probably more gadgets in the kitchen because men are in ther more often. It takes the tedium out of what was drudgery when only women did it.

Same thing in the diy and building industry. Power tools ensure that women can do the same jobs that men did traditionally before. I worked on the sites for years and found it easy because of the gadgets to make drilling or sawing or tile cutting or whatever easier.

All of this makes for more diversity in who can do what job, so no reason for men to stay out of the kitchen anymore, or for women to be in it.

i never thought cooking was important until i got to college...then it was a little important. once i was working...i knew that it was either cooking or gaining a 100 lbs a yr eating outside junk...so i chose cooking...best decision i ever made.

not to brag or anything...but i am a fantastic cook :-). it does score bonus points with men

I think that old thing of the way to a mans heart is thru his tummy has been misunderstood.

It did not say that was the starting point.

If you go thru the stomach to get to his heart, you must have STARTED lower ladies.professor
