Dusty45: My understanding of 'karma' is that it pertains to our experiences. Good, bad, or indifferent.

karma - a product of this illusionary world. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So, then, it would appear that we cannot escape it.

Go with the flow. Listen to your heart where the intuitive answers are.

Hi T....wave I'm glad you asked this question because it made me think....smile The question itself and the different responses from others is definitely way more interesting than whether we are right or wrong in our thinking....thumbs up

How do we break karma? Well, we have to first be able to understand what it is, I think... laugh For sure it is very complex, much more so than all the simplistic sayings we have coined over time about it; because by that same token we see examples where karma would "apparently" manifest itself and it does not seem to,....always do so by our simplistic, self imposed/defined terms of what karma is. I feel that karma in essence is negativity perpetrated and perpetuated amongst ourselves; actions and reactions to events whether we are acting or reacting also imply will and determination; the other avenue would be avoidance....altogether...
I feel that in essence to avoid karma we have to understand the laws of nature, we need to know and understand ourselves well....it is worth the effort in gold, and last but not least, we have to apply ourselves continually to the task at hand, conciously and concientiously; I know it is easier said than done.......laugh but with effort applied correctly it begins to manifest itself.

How do we learn fear and how real is it? cheers

I liked your perspective constanza...I totally understand how you defined Karma....

It seems that we're caught on the wheel of Karma that keeps us tied here, and keeps us from transcending. Many people don't realize that they can get off...but it is no easy process. The main thing is if that person is ambitious enough to find happiness with an open mind in the present. Oh, there as so many lessons to learn to break free of Karma.....it takes many....many lifetimes....

Here is my two cents on karma.

It is said that "fate guides the willing and drags the unwilling". (anonymous) I don't like the word 'fate' as it sounds so final. I prefer to use "karma" because with karma, free will still applies. It is through karma that we gain the greatest understanding of ourselves. Many people regard karma as God's 'punishment' for past ill actions or sin. This is not true.

Those who refuse to face their karma may feel that they are being dragged, by the hair, kicking and screaming through life, forced to face certain fears and truths about themselves they'd rather not. Through this refusal or denial, they are not "being" punished by any outside force, least of all God. Moreso, they are "punishing themselves". We are our own judge and jury, God is our witness. No one can lie against God's witness. This truth we must face, and it can be the most difficult, painful thing we will ever have to do in life. In some extreme cases, may God have mercy.

empressophie: Well, breaking the cycle of Karma involves seeing things as they really are, doesn't it? Recognising the way that our own attachments, repulsions and delusions tie us into repetitive patterns? Recognising that everything (including us) is temporary.

Perhaps it is more in recognizing that our finite mind which is not separate to the infinite mind chooses to perceive the duality of our existence as polar opposites as it is conditioned to from the beginning. Or we can percieve it as part of the whole neither this nor that. Just is.

We each have a different perception of what is good and evil. So each of us on one or more levels will co-create and manifest the effect of our good/bad deeds accordingly.

Knowledge or lack thereof can therefore either enhance the quality of our lifes journey or cripple it.

What is important as has been said is our perception. We are, as also been said in a previous post, just a drop in the ocean of all that is.

Woven in the tapestry of our individual lives are patterns that define the manifestation of what we believe to be true. Interconnected and interwoven also are the patterns of others individual patterns that will also affect or not the manifestation of what will eventually come to be. Infinite and indefinable by nature.

It is always in a constant state of movement. Inherent in that which is constantly changing however is that which does not change. That is the purest essence of the whole of life, both visible and invisible.

It is in these moments when communing with this essence that the duality of life ceases to exist. We are then able to see Karma in its entirety. A construct in the denser levels of existence that is created in most instances when we are not mindful of our conditioned thought processes.
