I was reading the thread about the alleged rice rationing....

And it got me thinking.

How many of us produce something, such as a product or food that we grow.

Or are most people consumers?

It would be nice to think that all of us contribute in some way to keep the planet fed and sheltered.

Just a thought....dunno

I planted a garden here at home until last year. Usually had enough Romaine lettuce for the entire neighbourhood.laugh bunny
I used to hunt big game and always shared the meat and nothing went to waste.
I do reno's and construction for a living but still fix some people's cars and houses for free if they have no means to do it themselves.

I am the ultimate consumer. I sing commercial jingles as i walk around the suprermarket.

I recycle, conserve energy and am currently working on a series of five minute 'greeners' or green moments for the stations I work with.

Very much a butterfly rather than an ant, but a socially conscious butterfly.devil

I lived a self sufficient life for about a year (Long time ago) but found that I got fed up working so hard and always being broke.

Had goats, grew all my own vegetables, Fruit etc. Nowadays always seem to have at least a decent herb garden and some salads, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, lettuce, onions, spinach. real easy to keep and don't take any time and I know they are Organic.

Rest of the time I produce ART!
I always joke about this like, Have you ever seen or heard of anyone running onto a street screaming "I need a Doctor, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Shrink etc I have never Seen Artist on that list rolling on the floor laughing

I spent several years when I was growing up on a farm where we were about 70% self sufficient. If I meet a life partner sometime in the not to distant future my dream would be to own and operate an agro tourismo here on Ibiza where we grow the majority of the food we serve, I often miss that lifestyle!
