j_goose71: But (probably for a different thread) if your free will does not coincide with worshiping God, then you are damned. What happened to unconditional love?
Does a parent love unconditionally?
But what if the child rapes and murders innocent children, caught in the very act so there is no doubt as to their guilt?
Does the parent still love? I would hope so, but...
But does the parent agree that the child must pay for its actions? with tears in their eyes, I think they would.
Hugz_n_Kissez: I find the quote...."The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing." very true...by doing nothing you give consent!!!!!!!!!!!!
MikeHD: When we run this debating circuit, we are bound to come into the same old arguments.
Here is mine:
If you contend that evil is what ever you perceive it to be, then what do you tell the family of the innocent that was slaughtered by one that did not perceive that act to be evil?
We are coming from a century that saw the killing of 1 and a half million Armenians, 6 million Jews, a third of Ethiopia, 50 million Chinese, not to mention the 2 world wars, civil wars through out the world, especially in Africa where we saw genocide attempted again and again. Well over 100 million killed. The bloodiest century the world has ever seen.
And you will just say that evil is nothing more than perception? Are you one of those who see the suffering of others as tough luck? Do you not weep for the children that suffer at the hands of evil men, even if you don't consider their acts evil simply because they do not perceive they are doing evil? Would you do nothing to stop them?
The world that takes a blind eye to this kind of evil in the name of a person's right to create their own reality, post modernism, or just hoping that man will learn to get his act together on his own, is going to be easy pickings for the next crop of evil men that rise up. This century promises to be much bloodier than the last. Because we do not want to impose our morality on others. Because the 10 commandments shouldn't be taught as a good thing.
I know evil men have used the name of Jesus to perpetrate horrific atrocities through out history, but that has nothing to do with Jesus and nothing to do with His true church. Any more than Toyota has to do with the death of a family killed when the drunk driver of the Toyota plows into them.
If you define evil, will you not be against it? And if you take a stand against it, will you not be imposing your morality upon that which you perceive to be evil? And if you do not, then will it not go unabated until the world is consumed by it?
I choose to take a stand, and you can call it evil if you like.
There you go Mike, picking out parts of things instead of reading everything. read my previous posts to this and then read my posts after this. Obviously you're seeing what you want to see instead of what I actually wrote as a whole. Look at the big picture yet again instead of just a piece of it.
Aries01: whats so scary about it anyway?? as a Catholic I was supposed to be anyway... the only difference is sincerity.. to me it makes sense what do u think??
It means you won't sleep with me on the first date
you can not be scared ... how can you be scared from something going to save your eternity...???
nowadays - lots of young people chose not to believe in god they just to refer to a spiritual power - this kind naive - who will be this spiritiual power but god... anyway
I recommend reading the old books describing the acient history and the bibles.. they will give you better answer..

Thanks Khader... sorry don't know if you read all the posts or not.. but I myself am not scared.. best decision I have ever made.. OP refers to the fact that as a Christian.. you do find that when you tell people.. they sometimes react like you have told them you have joined a cult.. this is rather funny and ironic given that as (mainly Catholics) my friends are supposedly 'Christian' too..
This is becoming very very boring with two sides, one saying they believe in invisible entities and the other saying they don't. I sure know what a shrink would say if I walked in and said I believed there was an invisible being in the sky that "Speaks" to me..............
BnaturAl: If they have such a 'will' I will comply, for I love them all.... besides, being a god I can cruci-fix things later... PS: naked is the path to truth.
So what's it like being a God nowadays?, I tried it for a while but it was getting awful commercial!
If it turns out that there is a God, I don't think that he's evil. But the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever. Woody Allen
