Crystal29: Well - let's see - - ailments for me.......

In 2006, I had cancer for the fourth time and as anyone who has been around this knows - each time you have to go through chemo - it is a stronger dose.......ALSO - chemo is not predjudice!!! It kills the bad cells AND the good cells.....

So as a result of the vicious cycle of chemo, I developed secondary heath problems. I had degenerative joint disease before the chemo, but the problem became worse afterwards. I also have Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Peripheral Neuropathy, thanks to the chemo.......

I may have "saved my life" by having chemo again (only did it because my daughter wanted me to), but in saving my life - I killed the life that I once had.....everything is different now - and by different, I definitely don't mean better.

I can't sleep - no more than two hrs at a time; I can't relax - the more relaxed I get, the greater the pain., but the worst thing is that my friends abandoned me when I started my chemo and started having additional health problems...

i HAVE been taking malic acid and magansuim throughout the day.

I said I wanted two things in What are your Top 5 thread...I wished for health and happiness...I now only wish for good health

hug hug

tufty: Just various aches and pains relating back to a motorbike accident at 18, nearly lost me leg, thankfully not, it got sewn back on, nice skin graft the length on the shin where the skin and muscle got ripped off, a nerve got trapped in the fibula while it was healing which gives hell if I accidentally bang it better to leave it there and have feeling in the foot tho

Main thing is due to the left leg being weaker, the right overcompensates, which leads to all sorts of things being ever so slightly out of line further up the spine, so every once in a while if I overdo stuff the right hip gives out loads of gip, and I get a lot of tension knots in the right shoulder.

Overall tho, nothing compared to the problems a stump would of caused so rarely grumble about it

That's rough, hun. My grandfathers leg and arm were cut off when he was robbed and thrown from a moving train. He never used an artificial arm, but that leg gave him trouble until the day he died.

The pain can be managed. hughug

Yep, it cut the leg off just below the knee, then gangrene set in. My daddy was 3 and remembers standing outside waiting for the ambulance and hearing his father scream. They ended up cutting it off up to the thigh.

Actually, those 2 men lived in the town with my grandparents all of those years. My grandfather held public office so it's not like they never saw him. He ran for office ever few years!

They were never procecuted but they had to live their lives seeing what they'd done.

dcj22: Excellent thread, sweetie.

OK. The worst of it is that I had a bone in the middle of my spinal cord. The cord was tethered to it so that any time I bent over or sat down, it stretched my spinal cord. It was very painful, and extremely rare.

The bone was drilled out almost 4 years ago. I was very lucky with my surgeon. He had done six of these previously. It was a very risky surgery.

I do have some residual nerve damage and have nerve pain from it sometimes. I don't have it all the time because we've been fortunate in finding meds that control it.

There.

I just wrote the whole damn sordid tale in an email, Ken. God that's hard to do, isn't it.
