LonelyHeartedm: What is Bipolar Depression?
It is more commonly known as manic depression. I can only talk about my circumstance since there are various forms and degrees of seriousness with each person.
I have type II bipolar which means I am more depressed than manic. Depressed stage includes feelings of sadness, hopelessness, lack of sleep, nervousness, overeating and other symptoms.
Manic stage for me is fleeting..only lasts 4-5 days. I get very nervous, cannot stop talking, cannot sleep, occasional panic attacks, somewhat paranoid, compulsionary tendencies...etc. Manic is terrible to go through.
My bipolar is very serious and I have yet to find any medication that helps.

Some know this, but I have an artificial hip, from getting hit by a car while crossing the street about 10 years ago. A few other minor things as a result of that accident, had several broken bones. My left arm won't raise up, and I have some nerve damage in the leg where I was hit, so I have a bit of a limp at times, it's worse when I'm tired.
Other than a few minor aches and pains, I'm healthy as a horse, and just glad to be alive.

Not really, more from all the other cr@p. My insides look like a junkyard on my x-rays. How is your mom's holding up? I've heard they don't last forever. God, I don't want to have another one. The surgery and recovery sucked!
In 2006, I had cancer for the fourth time and as anyone who has been around this knows - each time you have to go through chemo - it is a stronger dose.......ALSO - chemo is not predjudice!!! It kills the bad cells AND the good cells.....
So as a result of the vicious cycle of chemo, I developed secondary heath problems. I had degenerative joint disease before the chemo, but the problem became worse afterwards. I also have Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Peripheral Neuropathy, thanks to the chemo.......
I may have "saved my life" by having chemo again (only did it because my daughter wanted me to), but in saving my life - I killed the life that I once had.....everything is different now - and by different, I definitely don't mean better.
I can't sleep - no more than two hrs at a time; I can't relax - the more relaxed I get, the greater the pain., but the worst thing is that my friends abandoned me when I started my chemo and started having additional health problems....

My mom is ok...some soreness sometimes. You are right, they don't last forever. Her recovery was terrible. My dad took care of her and said it was very difficult. My mom was in alot of pain for weeks. Thanks for asking.
Maybe you won't have to have it replaced since it has already been 10 years.

Thank you for opening up. I am so sorry you are going through this. I learned alot about lupus and fibromyalgia from a past relationship and they are very serious ailments also. You are in my prayers!!

Actually it's been just going on 7, I didn't have it till 4 years after the original incident. They pieced me back together at first, but that eventually wore out. I've got a newer type, titanium and ceramic I think, they're supposed to last longer.

I'm so sorry. You make me feel bad for even talking about my problems. God bless you sweetie, hope you're better soon.
