alabamabebe: Actually it's been just going on 7, I didn't have it till 4 years after the original incident. They pieced me back together at first, but that eventually wore out. I've got a newer type, titanium and ceramic I think, they're supposed to last longer.
Did the car hit you directly or were you in a car and were hit?
alabamabebe: I'm so sorry. You make me feel bad for even talking about my problems. God bless you sweetie, hope you're better soon.
Oh my goodness! Don't EVEN think that! Everyone's issues are important - no one issue is greater than the other! You have definitely been through the ringer with your surgery, etc..... I just happened to have the bottom drop out on me all at once........
Grrrrr... I was diagnosed with Shingles today!! And NO it is not from an std like some people think! I told a few people that and was pissed when they said that. Basically if you have had the chicken pox you can get it. It's like chicken pox but the rash is way worse and it attacks your nerves so you have severe pain everywhere. I am absolutely friggin miserable. I have a high pain tolerence too! It lasts about 5 weeks! To top it all off I am contagious, anyone who hasn't had chicken pox can get it from me so I am holed up in my room itching like crazy.
WHEW I feel better thanks for the thread, allowed me to vent
I'm bored if anyone wants to chat send me some mail!
Other than 2 skin cancer spots removed in the past 2 years, I suffered a spinal chord stenoma episode which I never knew I had, this past Oct. Been dealing with PD., panic disorder since I was 24.

Sorry to hear about you all too
Sorry Daisychick...I had shingles when I was 15. It usually occurs in people who are older. My shingles were on my stomach, and you are right about it being related to chicken pox.
Luckily, I had no side affects and got over it in 3 weeks.

gentlepaws: Great thread. Thank you.

PeniAnnie: Well - let's see - - ailments for me.......
In 2006, I had cancer for the fourth time and as anyone who has been around this knows - each time you have to go through chemo - it is a stronger dose.......ALSO - chemo is not predjudice!!! It kills the bad cells AND the good cells.....
So as a result of the vicious cycle of chemo, I developed secondary heath problems. I had degenerative joint disease before the chemo, but the problem became worse afterwards. I also have Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Peripheral Neuropathy, thanks to the chemo.......
I may have "saved my life" by having chemo again (only did it because my daughter wanted me to), but in saving my life - I killed the life that I once had.....everything is different now - and by different, I definitely don't mean better.
I can't sleep - no more than two hrs at a time; I can't relax - the more relaxed I get, the greater the pain., but the worst thing is that my friends abandoned me when I started my chemo and started having additional health problems....
mbcasey: It is more commonly known as manic depression. I can only talk about my circumstance since there are various forms and degrees of seriousness with each person.
I have type II bipolar which means I am more depressed than manic. Depressed stage includes feelings of sadness, hopelessness, lack of sleep, nervousness, overeating and other symptoms.
Manic stage for me is fleeting..only lasts 4-5 days. I get very nervous, cannot stop talking, cannot sleep, occasional panic attacks, somewhat paranoid, compulsionary tendencies...etc. Manic is terrible to go through.
My bipolar is very serious and I have yet to find any medication that helps.
Thank you for asking.
I know people that have that.Wow .how brave of you to mention that here.

HJFinAZ: No, I did not make it up there. At at Gregg Norman's and Throughbreds a couple of times. Rented a Street Glide for a place on Kings Highway in MB..
Greg Norman's is in Barefoot Landing on the Intercoastal Waterway. Barefoot Resort is accross the Intercoastal Waterway (accross the swing bridge).
76th Ave is a nice neighborhood...good place to rent a house. North Myrtle Beach is quieter....
