life have send me to so many places
each one with his own rules and laws
i have been to free countries and the not free countries
i have been to democracies (not a synonim of free)
i have been to dictatorship countries too

althought this huge diference i could manage myself well

i even survived being in a dictatorship country too

all what i did was easy and simple

i readed the laws and rukes of the country i was heading
and i folowed them there

i never questiones any of the laws and rules althought some of them sounded dumb to me

untill i landed in the internet dating world

whenever i consider to join a internet dating site, i read the laws and rules that the site has
if i dont agree i dont join it, and if i agree to folow them i join the site

then i find that most people get mad at me for folowing the laws and rules of the site
i am being asked to light up and have fun
it is hard for me to undertand that concept
why having fun should mean to give up on me folowing the rules

is any one wiling to give me some light on the topic

for some reazon things that i have been doing in my whole life do not work in the last few month

i can undertand some people could get agraveted by my actions, but this is always in real life
as for example, here in florida people drive over the speed limit, i do not
the ones that are behind me, seems to be mad i drive slow (excactly at the speed limit), but till now i have a clean driving record, and no cop asked me to drive faster
here in florida, people will go to the mid of the intersection to turn left when they got the yelow light so they can run a red light later
i dont do thatm and for the gestures od the drivers behind me, they are mad at me too

why the interned dating sites have rules to be bend?

please dont undertand me wrong
i am not complainig about the site
i am not complaining about the mods
i do not complain about other members
i want to undertand

you are supposed to pull into the middle of the intersection before turning left....so no wonder people are honking & giving you the 'finger'

and most people understand that when driving on a nonresidential street it is okay to go about 5 miles over the limit....if people honk it means you should pull to the right so they can pass you by.....

Not everything is black & white when it comes to rules....so yeah...lighten up
scold

alex this is a frustrating thing

i completely understand

but youve said this same thing and asked this same thing
almost every day since joining

its your problem
its my problem
im sure we arent the only ones

but all we can do is not do it ourselves
in any situation
driving a car
talking in the movies
whatever it is

we must stop choosing to pay attention to what other people do
we can only control ourselves

if your idea is to make friends and maybe find a woman
stop complaining
the frustration we feel puts people off
you ask why why--who caaares?
if people act a way that is not attractive-stay away
does it matter why people do what they do?
if they do it and we dont like it, they arent the one for us

we can feel this way about many things
why do people smoke drink overeat seem angry etc etc etc

so what shall we choose?
stay frustrated? keep mentioning it? everyone can see we are uncomfortable?
or let it go- do our own thing
and make our own little garden.

so what im saying is re-direct your attention here
i am trying to do it
it is a hard habit to break but i believe i can do it
and i believe in you also

He is clearly being polite and trying to understand the reason for the difference of opinions he faces .. so maybe people could be polite while replying ..

Thats my opinion and suggestion.

Helloo Alex wave

Rules are rules.. wherever you are and whatever they are for.. they are there for a reason.

In some situations rules are strictly adhered to.. (or more strictly punished)

In other situations.. sometimes people are able to bend the rules a little more.. Like driving faster than the speed limit, it is a risk they take to 'bend' .. or break the rules.

The internet dating sites are no different.. some people stick to the rules.. some people bend them.. and some people break them.. and some people get punished for doing so.

It's just people.. and how they respond to rules.. that's all.
Everyone is different.

Like you and me.. You are good at abiding by the rules.. and I often bend them.. devil

it is my habit for the last 55 years
and unless i keep it, i will have to change my work
i have no clue where i will be in 2011, and in case i will be in another place i will have to adapt myself to the new place, keeping myself trained in reading the rules and laws and be able to folow them is one of the seccret to my succes in my job

finally, read my post, i am not complaining, i am asking for advice

I agree, when you do bend or break the rules and get caught you have to pay the consequences.

and some people is geting punished for NOT breaking the rules too

in real life, what would happen if a whole town will go to the police and complain i DO NOT DRIVE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT?
what happens in the internet dating sites when several people will complain i follow the rules?

again, i am not complaining i want to undertand
and for you that wants to twist things, can you make the effor to be polite once in your life and help a stranger?

this is a new world for me

i agree on that concept

but there is another that i cannot undertand

people ask me to light up, and have fun and bend the rules

then if i bend the rules i risk to be punished

in one case i am puinished by the ones bending the rules because i dont want to bend them
in the other case i am punished by the site because i break the rules

please dont undertand me wrong

i have not been punished by the site, i am not complaining

and it certainly a different one isn't it.. laugh

but you are right.. sometimes people do get punished unfairly (wherever)... but that too.. is just how it is.. just how things are.

When it comes to rules.. (anywhere in life).. for me at least.. I try to stick to them mostly..

Sometimes I can see it's okay in some situations to bend them a little.. and that usually it's not worth breaking the rules unless it's absolutely necessary .. Because it's just not worth the trouble and hassle that can come from it.

It's fine for you to adhere to the rules...if others choose to bend or break them...that's up to them...let them deal with the consequences....they don't need to be pointed out or reminded....because we are all adults here...so just let them do their thing.....wave wink hug comfort
