I guess it depends on how major the issue was. Sometimes people say things just to get a reaction. I would decide if it was worth all the fuss or not. If so, then confront them, simple as that. Otherwise, just ignore it and let it go. Don't give them the thrill of attention if you can help it. But in the end, completely up to you and only you.

If so, then confront them, simple as that. Otherwise, just ignore it and let it go. Don't give them the thrill of attention if you can help it. But in the end, completely up to you and only you.

Yes that is true also. That is why I said, "depends on how major the issue was" something like posting something for everyone else to see, I would email them privately and speak to them about it and perhaps say a little something in my defense on that thread, but not enough to create a huge scene.
Just like everything in life, it is all a case by case scenerio and to who the scenerio happens to.
