I had opportunity to do the "friends with benefits" scenario and I found it in too impersonal.
Yep. It's down to patience and how much respect you have for yourself. Not everyone agrees with this, but I personally find it important to my self worth, not to play around with friends and most likely lose them in the process. Good friendships are rare enough, why risk them for quick gratificaton.
evie_girl_fl: That is just selfishness in my opinion. Why cant a person wait until they do have the right individual?
Not for nothing, there is way too many diseases going on because of the term "friends with benefits". Well, its not for me , I rather hang out with my coworkers than have one of those types of relationships!good morning everyone!

Actually it's not 'crap'. Men and women do differ dramatically in our very nature, and have totally different roles. I'd have added 'JMHO', but I didn't invent this. (and neither did John Gray, but he sure explained it well)
kidatheart: No! Never! It's just all the aliens I've ever met just wanted to probe me and leave. No cuddles, no kisses. and all I wanted is to be held.
arabella: So none of the women who you have been "friends" with got emotionally involved?
And there have been no jealousies when you or her moved on?
Do you think that stating the just friends thing at the beginning makes a difference in keeping that kind of relationship happy and without jealousy?
I know, too many questions....
If I begin to feel an emotional attachment, I tell them that and I inform them that it is time for me to move on. I remind them of what we fhad agreed to in the beginning and since things are now changing, it's time to call it quits before someone gets hurt.
I recall one of these women was looking over my shoulder as I was on CS one day. I turned to her and said********,I know how yu u feel about me....but I don't love you.
