HAS ANYTHING FUNNY HA-HA HAPPENED TO YOU THIS WEEK? (56)
Sorry everyone, for bumping this thread ..... but I gotta tell another funny that happened .....
I been going to this German School to learn to speak/write german. The class is made up of all Auslanders (foreigners) ...... We got a Nepalese, Tibetan, Angolan, Serbian, and three Albanian ladies, and me.
The one lady, who only speaks Albanisch, been here 12 years (!) is quite elderly (but younger than me) - The Nepal and Tibetan were late in joining so we been doing a lot of revision work so they can catch up, and in the teachers mind (I can read his mind!) this is good for the Albanian ladies as they are battling to grasp the grammar ...........
..... Suddenly, first with a great big wide open yawn of dramatic innuendo of boredom, this lady slams her hands on the table, grabs her text book, gives a few more slaps on the table, looks the startled Herr Leherer in the face and shouts "SCHNELL! SCHNELL! SCHNELL!" .....!!!!! (Like she`s his Mama and he better obey her!)
I was absolutely astounded at her arrogance in the face of her ignorance! She is obviously in a hurry to "learn Deutsch"!!?
Needless to say, no-one can Schnell a German Teacher.

--- You would want to be a fly on the wall when the licensing inspectors come around tommorrow to check out the sales figures of the smallest wine co in the world. They always come in twos (suited) the proverbial good cop bad cop and they always are new to the job.
i can just imagine--- firstly they will have to find a park,which is a feat in itself-they will approach the front via the open verandah which is my studio ( splattered in paint )- the faint tinkling of various chimes will be pleasant on their ears an they may even be greeted by the friendly magpie who frequents - the three brooms ( Japanese in origin, witchy in nature) to the right of the door may be a bit disconserting as they ponder whether to knock or just walk through the beaded entrance that has a whiff of jasmine incense filtering through
--- I think I may pull out the patent red leather witches hat i had made some years ago --- this seems the occasion for which it was made

Beneath some tank in France
We had an issue with a client in Tenerife, and as I am on Gran Canaria I was asked to see if I could do something.
Over the telephone, of course. I was standing in a crossing near by a bus stand, and the calls went on in Swedish, English and Spanish, and for a brief moment even German as I got another call about something else while doing this.
When done I tried to collect my thoughts and remember where I was actually heading. Then this old Canaries lady, sitting in the shadow waiting for the bus, looks at me sternly and said: You better decide what language to keep to, it makes me tired to try to listen into what you talk about. And then she gave me the biggest grin.
Oh, they are lovely people here
