soulmateTWS: Crotalus and I don't see eye to eye on the concept of religion...so what...It doesn't make me like him any less...it doesn't make either one of us a bad person. It's my right to believe and his not to...I just don't argue about religion, period. I state my opinion, then pretty much go on about my way...my opinion of the whole idea...to each their own.I really agree with Alabamabebe. It's not my place to push my beliefs on anyone , because I wouldn't like it if someone was trying to do it to me.

crotalus_p: Smile there is no hell I despise all forms of oppression, ignorance and hatred equally (and yes I am aware of the irony of having a hatred of hatred)
You know what I find sooo very sad, never mind what you, what I believe, whatever it is. I have never perceived you to be a happy person, never a joke or a light side coming from you. I feel just darkness, sternness, very unbending. Seemingly needing to control it everytime. You hear or read about God and you go bunkers and then go on and on and........on, some more. You don't handle critisizm very well either, I believe most who give it mean it as constructive, I know that I do.
Yes I am sorry but what ever you believe, it is not giving your peace but constant striving. Whatever you wish to believe makes no differents to me, believe me I am not getting brownie points for pointing a person to Jesus. It was also not I who died for you on the cross. Ask yourself, don't tell me, why are you not finding peace and happiness in what you believe? That too me is sad!
Daniel4021: Alright I said I would tell you, so here it is... I was in Florida working, and when I was finished my wife at the time came to get me, alondg with my step son, we stayed over night, and left the next day, we broke down about 118 miles from where we lived. so I got out and started walking back to the exit, I saw one guy changing a flat tire, I thought if I help him maybe he might give me a ride to a gas station..
But I saw his car was packed with clothes except for the driver seat, next thing I know, there is this car that wasn't there before, right in front of his, as I got closer someone leaned over and opened the passenger door, I get up there and look inside, and it's this elderly lady, she asked do you need some help son? I said yes mam'me I think I do, she said then get in, I will take you whever you need to go..
To make a long story short, just to make conversation I asked her where she was headed to, and she said.... well the lord told me to get in my car and drive to this exit, and when I saw you he said he is one of mine, he belongs to me, and she then she said I am here to help you so don't worry what you ask, because I am here for you.. that's proof enough for me..
Her car did not comeout of nowhere , it came from somwhere

Um. what about the people whom have been in life threatening situations, ie trapped under a burning car with their bodies all broken up and a stranger or in some case I have read, a long dead friend or relative lifted the car off of them and stayed with them until help came, only to disappear into thin air when help arrived?

keytone: I know, But it is under the "poems" not "religeon" or "politics" they should have a "debate" thread" really. anyway.I hope someday for you, that as time passes, You will let some people live in the beliefs they are comfortable with. I think you are somehow "sincere" yet I also believe you find extreme pleasure in "Telling people the Truth" over and over. good morning.
;-}
Umm, I think it is further than that, I would say, HIS (crotalus's) truth.

I feel it too, Jenny. As I read this, I am also reminded of something my Father a WWII vet used to say "There are no atheists in foxholes"
I guess thats down to what you define as a fox hole - here in northern England, where we actully do have foxes, I imigine its quite different to how the rest of you see the matter

Um, he was referring to the man made foxholes or trenches they were in during raging battle.

ummm yes, know but at 2-48 I have niether time nor inclination to expound upon the issue - if you really want to talk of atheists in foxholes the please do get back to me tomorrow - Im sure Ill find a bit of time - other than that, theres masses on that particulaar issue on any of the atheist or xtian websites you may care to access - just put the word 'atheist' at the end of whichever tract you may be searching and you will surely find a wealth of infrmation..............
