i agree, it drives me mad, when people wander from the thread.well your mate has got courage, but she shouldnt have to rehome her grown up kids, adult kids, should be able to stand on their own feet and not be a constant worry and drain on their parents.when you mention her man waiting to get his oats, that is hilarious, they are obviously in love, surely she is looking forward to getting her oats too.if 2 people love each other and she doesnt like the states, surely they would go somewhere, that appeals to them both, malta is a beautiful place and very cheap to live here compared to u.s. and u.k.

Hi.

I promised to write in this thread.

My opinion

1. Each of us is motivated in life by different things at different stages. That lady wants something in her life, it is what moivates her now. So, let her live her life as she wants to.

2. Posession of goods is not forever. We will die one day, maybe tomorrow or in a 100 years and we will not carry with us none of our today lands, properties, etc.

3. It is very useful a back up plan as the people mentipned here before my post.

4. In case somebody is happy and feel love only for a hour, for a week, for a year is more important than living like a vegetable in a palace and having none to really care.

5. Nobody can plan the inpredictible.

6. If it is a mistake, it means that person had to make it in order to learn something important for his/her own future.

This is my opinion.
Thanks for asking me.

Good luck to your friend!

no1brightongirl: i have a close friend i have known for 30 odd yrs, shes gorgeous, kind and a professional woman.in july she met an american man,13yrs older than her,i know him,he is a good man, they get on great and have so much in common, she calls him her twin.they had fallen in love within a couple of days of meeting and are madly in love and speak on the phone for about 5 hrs a day.in nov she is leaving this country to be with him in the u.s. they are going to marry, from what i understand.she will leave her job,her home, have to rehome her pets, but is taking one with her and rehome her grown up kids, leave her family and friends and put all her hopes into this one person.he lives with his grown up daughter and many animals.i am amazed at her courage,i could understand a person leaving england to go to an eu country, but america is the other side of the world.i feel concerned because in a way she is giving up her life for the love of this man, whilst he only has to sit and wait for her and look forward to getting his oats.what would scare me about all this,if it was me,would be,what if everything goes wrong?

[Great to know and thank you so much for sharing, I am still waiting for someone special in the USA having such a brave heart and comming to live here in Europe with me/color]cheering

smoky: She has a Pioneering spirit .... good for her! And you say she is a professional woman, so whatever happens, anyway, she will land on her feet.

Its like telling kids they musn`t walk on a wall, they will fall ...... everyone has to "walk the wall" for themselves?... if they fall off, well, its the only way they learn.

There are six foot walls and ten foot walls and some walls that falling off equals instant death.............. I am constantly surprised when people not only 'fall in love' via the internet but also decide to get married even before they meet - and we condemn arranged marriages in other cultures!

I think you can almost 'know' what a person is like before you meet them in the flesh, but I'd not commit myself to a person I'd never met - and it's not clear to me if this happy couple have actually met yet or not................ if they have met and their animal need to be together 'forever and ever' is confirmed - then so be it! conversing sigh grin

They make a beautiful couple bouquet

Yes, tell us more, Rusty, we have had hard times of envy here for you leaving on a cruise. Now we need to hear what a bad time you had, the terrible weather and such.

well, well, well... I you want to live a secured life - planned out in the details ... Like most people here in My country.. Well - then don't seek the love of your life... Look for friendship - maybe a romance - maybe - a little more ... Maybe endless evening in front of the TV ... Sometimes - in a cafee, or so...

If you look for real love, and it maybe comes to you - then grab it... You don't get that many chances in life.. If it tickels in your heart - tickels in your stomack - and you loose the brain..

Use your imagination - you fantasi ... And .. if it turns out it wasn't real - the world is not bigger - than you cannot turn back..

If you don't take risks - sometimes big ones - you proplerbly just want to "be here" ... and that's OK... for the most "of us"... But the experiences - will not come to you, just by sitting in your ususal chair.. Go out seek the luck - the happy moments.. But please do yourself that favour - find out how the guy or the Lady lives in his or her daily life... Is it something for you ? don't expect you can change a person... Because - trying so - will only lead to a lot of unhappy moments - a lot of thoughts --- Why do you do this..?? Why are you like this ? and not like ******* ..

But the romance that lifts your life into something - you cannot do alone.. That ask for something - begs for something - and Maybe you find the LUCK...

sleep kiss yay

and hell - what is a life without love ... Not much worth..

Let's not leave a wrong impression to the great audience.

Only cows know how to understand another cow.

I like men.
