it sure can feel like crap to be ignored- i wish we could be that utopia but it aint gonna happen
the membership has shifted to this being the norm-

That was my suspicion from the beginning! I have initiated a Poll to find this out, but only a few looked at it (because most people looking first at the name and than maybe on the subject). And those few who looked at the subject and participated answered most probably correct. The others didn't even look, thqat's why the result of that poll is not correct!
My initial first experience was, that I opened a thread (most 5 hated questions by man) which was visited about 15 times and only a few comment on that.
2 weeks later another guy posted exactly the same joke, and he had much more viewer and much more comments!
This is what we call a "clique" - a behaviour found in primitive live forms and from humans who are intollerant and probably never left their hometown!

The forums have always been groups, or cliques...as long as i have been here....they just keep revolving like a circle......the prob is ppl are watching more than throwing there 2 cents in ....so i say step up and be heard....or fall to the background........the platitudes herein are nice enuf but the regulars know

Well, I am glad I am not the only one who sees this. I can only imagine how a new person feels.
My very first post her was about Angelina Jolie...and got zero responses!!
My second was about HIV and AIDS....got one response!!

I know personally and having only been her 4 or 5 days, I'm kinda guilty as well of the cliquish type thing. However, I just find posts of certain people more interesting than that of others thus I'm going to gravitate more so to those threads that I see posters that I recognize more so as my "style"

well i wouldnt go so far as to draw such exacting conclusions
cuz they could be wrong
timing has alot to do w/ responses
i guarantee the people that saw the joke 2nd time around didnt see it the first time
but the clique thing-
i think its just that socializing in a large group is a completely different skill than small group
thats why some other forums are different-i think there are different skills.
