Buzzy: To find love again, you have to climb out on the thinnest of tree branches. To love truly, you have to give your all. How can you be truly committed to someone if you are holding back part of your heart? If your heart feels so beaten and bruised, then you need to do some healing first. You are not in a place to give all of you to anyone. An investor risks his money to gain more. Does he always have a gain? No. Will he keep investing? Yes, because the gain is always worth it. We are all investors with our heart? If we stop investing, will we get a heart in return? In order to recieve someones heart, we have to open ours.

buzzy: because feling loved is worth all the pain. If you never been truly in love then you wouldn't undersatnd. If not feeling the pain or the love is okay for you, go for it.

I have truly been in love, that is why I know what the pain is like and I have no wish to feel it again. If others think it is worth it thats up to them. I was knocked dowm by a car once and dont want that pain again either so am extra careful to not let it happen again.

Right On, vonney!

I have been in love many times.

Sometimes it was great and had a painless ending.

But those times when I found out that the other person's expressions of love were a lie....

Those are the times that have left a scarsigh

So have I, which is why I know that feeling is worth the risk of the pain. The pain fades, then heals with time, but the memory of loving and being loved like that remains to give a warm feeling in one's heart. Without pain to compare it to, we would never be able to fully experience joy.

Yes, Vonney, I will also have to agree to disagree with you on this.

I have a painting with the saying, "If you planted your heart, what would grow?" For me, the answer is LOVE, and it will be beautiful beyond belief.

So...I've planted mine in fertile soil...soil that holds all of the necessary nutrients within, and looking to pair it with another planted and nourished as well. A pairing of two such hearts, so well tended and nourished, must be an even more beautiful experience, for they will also nourish each other well.

lanabyte: I have to agree with Vonney here. If you never love then you're ignorant to the feeling. But once you've had that kind of pain, it's different. I just don't see how a little love from someone outweighs that.

A little doesn't...it's a lot that does. And it starts with healing and loving oneself enough, then finding one who loves you as much as you do them...someone you can build that with is worth the risk.

If one does not take the chance of an affair of the heart, then one will not know love.

Polarbutterfly: "I've had my heart broken and,it hurt like hell...still does.
But,with time and a strong will,I've become a stronger and a more confident woman because of the heartache. So,I shall put
my worries and woes behind me and, live for the moment."

I know the feeling as well and will not let me stop me. I've learned from my mistakes and others. And I choose to call it an learning experience. And it made me a stronger and better woman I think.

lucky200761: I've been told by several people that to find love(or happiness) you have to risk getting hurt by putting it out there; is that really a smart thing to do. The one thing that holds our beliefs, our joys, and who we truly are as person, should be put at risk for finding someone else...

...At what price do we pay for having the one thing that can be truly be called our own, sold and exchanged repeatedly just to find a sense of worth, companionship, and happiness?

By the time we find that one person, how does ones heart look like? is it torn and repeatedly reglued? is it so bruised and beaten that it has lost it's life?

MY point....Can we really give who really are completely, after giving it to many others in trial and error? It is one thing to open your hearts to love one another, but it is something completely different to risk your whole being in attempt to find a mate...

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.(Proverbs 4:23)

I guess it has to be if we want to love and find love....no risk is empty...so the choice is ours and ours alone...stay closed up and empty...or take a few risks...live through a few broken hearts...that won't kill us to find the one who really matters...wave wink hug kiss hug heart beating
