Oh for goodness sake..

can you honestly say women... that you do not wish to go with a younger male?

I do understand that if a 40 year old is going with someone over the half his age.... she's probably a gold digger, "READ BETWEEN THE SHEETS YOU 40 YEAR OLDS!!!!) and if she digs and finds gold, well, thats a lesson learn't for the 40 year old isn't it... more to add to the mid-life crises..

but, if a 40 year old woman goes with an 18 year old....
a born catholic would probably say eeeeeewwwwwh!
a buddisht would probably say ummmmmmmmmmm!
a rastifarian would probably smoke him!
and a penticostal would probaly clap, raise her hands and say hellilujah!!!![/size]

Please note: this is no offense to any church faith out there.. Its only to see the funny side of things....
peace applause peace

I posted this on a similar thread and thought it would be an appropriate add in here:

sweetowen:

And why is the Societal Conditioning different for men & women?? Why is it so acceptable for older men to be with younger women??

In the past, women really did not live very long. Many died due to childbirth or illness. Sadly, many children during those times never lived bast early child hood either. So, there were many men whom might have had ~3 to 7 or more wives by the time they died. So, young women were always, marriageable b/c younger women had a better chance of surviving childbirth and the guy had a decent chance of having a wife to live his lifetime with.

Also, if a woman had not found a husband before she was 25 she was considered a spinster and an old maid,(think shunned by society where men were concerned). If she found somebody after she was a Spinster, there was much gossip and ostracizing of the couple.

So it became Taboo for an older woman to expect any mate let alone a younger mate.

In more recent times, Immunizations, Specialty Doctors/Medicine, longer life expectancy; ( Ironically women now outlive men), changing society, and other factors are reversing the mindsets that created that Taboo.

There is also the fact that there are many more females in the world than males. So many of us are expanding our options to include younger men.

There are other cultures whose young men are having to look outside of their culture, due to centuries of female genocide. So these guys have not enough women to chose from in their countries.

I realize this is all EXTREMELY simplified, here in my explanation. However, you can read about much of it in Anthropology, and Sociology books as well as some history.

Charli15695: How do you feel about older woman dating younger men. I'm not talking a 40 yr old woman with an 18 yr old man -- what is your acceptable age range? Would you men consider dating a woman 10 years older? It seems more acceptable for men to date younger women - I was just wondering...your thoughts?

Oh sure,if a man is 28-30 and woman is 40-42 it is not a big diffrence and it may be a successful partnershipdunno

My mother was seven years older than my Dad. You couldn't tell, and she wound up being his caregiver in the later years (he died in his early 70s - she's still going). Their marriage lasted over 50 years. Age was never an issue.

cherrybomb97: In just entered into a relationship with a man 6 years younger and I am so pleased! We discussed the age difference briefly but the conclusion was that age ain't nuthin but a number. We are all adults here.

Do whatever it takes to find happiness in this life!

When I was around 19 I became involved with a woman over double my age. We spent many years togather more as friends than a couple. Though neither got involved with anyone else in that time. We are still great friends and I recently went to her wedding to an older man. Age is just a number...

something: The ideal age for a couple is for the woman to be half the man's age plus seven years. IE if the man is 16 half his age is 8 + 7 = 15. man 20 woman 17 man 40 woman 27 man 50 woman 32 and so on. hope this helps

Something very wrong here then..............
You're saying that a 50 year old woman should be dating a 90 year old guy rolling on the floor laughing I know that men are far less mature than women, at the same age.....but that is rediculous!

During my teens and 20's, I was attracted to guys 10 years older, because they were more mature than those my own age. Now, I find that guys my age are far too old and needy for my liking. Maybe someone will prove me wrong.

Age is after all just a number and you can't help who you are attracted to and fall in love with. Many of the guys who have asked me out over the past few years, have been in their late 30's. To me, it's the person who counts teddybear

Regarding ideal age formula, quoted below: Why not have a poll and see how many 32 year old women want to date a 50 year old man? That is an 18 year age difference. Usually people want someone near their own age. Granted some 32 year women will date a 50 year old, but I don't think its the norm.

In response to: something: The ideal age for a couple is for the woman to be half the man's age plus seven years. IE if the man is 16 half his age is 8 + 7 = 15. man 20 woman 17 man 40 woman 27 man 50 woman 32 and so on. hope this helps.
