Mines not as girly I am begining my scuba diver course from 1st November BUT!first I have to pass my medical uh oh So I will book my appointment end of this week fingers cross I pass thumbs up Otherwise if I fail I wont be able to do my course crying A lot of it boils down to my lungs / breathing as I am prone to asthma attacks but lots of folks get involved in sports that suffer with asthma and are good for it. Other than that I am quiet healthy and fit for an old gal.

If I am lucky and pass the medical and go on to do my course get my divers licence. I will then add to my bucket list get my bikers licence whoohoo! This gal is going out with style "livin life & lovin it"motorcycle better not get to far ahead of myself as gotta pass the divers course first and I may add I am nervous and excited wish me luck! P.S. if I fail I will look like this blushing moping

Weather's all over the shop here, 16° today, scary strong winds with regular downpours snowed in

Hoping for some nice warm weather during my break but looking like hovering around 20 with the occasional 35 laugh

Can't wait for summer even with all the tweezing, plucking, fake tanning and sweating happy place

PS. Couldn't believe people were complaining about the couple of warm days we had last week .. maybe they should move to Tassie laugh

That's brilliant curly!! Wish I could do that but I am a typical Pom, shocking swimmer, hate even putting my face under the surface so diving is out for me blues

It's pathetic I know but it's not in my blood like aussies they can swim before they can walk australia

Good luck with the medical - as you say a lot of swimmers who have asthma were told to do it by the doctor to exercise their lungs.

Funny how the Pommes and the Dutch seem to take out so many medals at the Olympics. Even the Germans seem to have a fair crack at it.

Not all Aust & USA way.

Hi Curly, wave

Good luck with your medical, but Jeez, if you cant pass it, I will be surprised..

As for diving, you will love it... I did it for years when I worked on a boat, and I went down with a mouthpiece...( hooka) You will need about 9lb of weights to hold you down, a good set of flippers will see you right...

anyway, it is pretty underwater... I hope you get to see a seahorse, they are just fascinating, but over yours at Margaret River, youcan dive and see the big clams...and there were also the big turban shells there... they were everywhere when I dived there.

So wishing you well and best way to dive deep is to 'duck dive' to get a bit of push to go down.. so tuck your knees up and push yourself down in a tight movement, you will get power to go down...
applause cheering

Curly, just to say, diving is so much easier than swimming... you have complete freedom to do what you like, and your body doesn't weigh anything, so you can float on the top for a bit, til you get used to it, then venture a little down, just a bit, then if you feel comfortable, you can go down deeper, about 15 ft my ears feel the pressure, and yes, I have not dived for while, but that's because I dont trust the sharks anymore..

Up to when they banned the trawlers up the gulf, there were hardly any shark worries, because the trawlers were great cullers... not purposely, but the sharks got caught every night... but since they banned the trawling, the amount of sharks have steadily grown, and I sort of dont mind the odd wobbegong, and little schoolies, but I am not keen to meet a great white ...
