The illusion...
It is powerful and all-pervasive,
It is inescapable and all-encompassing,
Like the mythical Hydra,
It’s always in front of you, on the path just ahead, waiting to devour the unsuspecting...,
Most, by far, fall prey to it, never knowing it could have been sooo otherwise...
Call it ‘karma’[which I personally don’t believe in], ‘luck’, ‘coincidence’, ‘meaninglessness’, ‘existentialism’, ‘Darwinism’, etc., etc., it matters not...,
Suddenly, one awakens; one realizes it’s all a daydream, a chimera of gargantuan proportions...,
The shock is huge...!!!
Now what?
Indeed, ‘to-be-or-not-to-be’, ‘what-to-be’, ‘what-to-do’, ‘what-to-have’, become the begging questions...,
And so begins a ride that no amusement park can possibly reproduce,
I sure hope you enjoy most of your ride, friend,
Bon Voyage...

loved the words 'a chimera of gargantuan proportions...,'
[very well penned indeed, Earl, i suspect sir, you are a man of letters, ah yes, when the cold sword of cruel reality, splices through the fallacy, but for the few, the mirage has substance, it is real, and the two roller-coaster rides twirl round, one of horror, and one of magic, Bon Voyage indeed, whichever one you ride. ]
Thank you for 'seeing' me Gotitall, and for your kind comments...

[it could always be sooo otherwise...but who's to say, really. karma doesn't need our belief to exist, and that's the beauty of it. what to do...get through the shock...and enjoy the moments of the carnival. perfect, earlgrey, it is.]
I try to enjoy, Gashly, i do, not easy, as i'm sure you already know, thank you for 'seeing' me...
"why is there air" Earlgreytea? I have begun begging questions. we have no Will Rogers to aide us in our journey, so YOU must step in...or step in it. there would most probably be little difference between the two. you are a very entertaining gentleman (no slur) and one of my favorite delights on this site. of answers to questions of this spinning orb we have arrived on and what is to be our direction hasn't really changed much over the eons of time. any answers thought learned were but accompanied by even yet more questions. I suppose that we are all looking for some sunshine in our lives..searching for a miracle in our lives (moody blues-questions)(ha!). maybe all we need do is 'consider the lilly' .....
Hey, Hedi, 'is there any air', 'really?'
You humble me with your waaaayyy too kind comments, my friend, thanks for 'seeing' me, at the end of the day, isn't that what we all want, someone to 'see' us?
[the ride of your life...indeed is a most exciting and adventurous one if you allow it to be...

Through faith, we create our own reality. I sure hope you enjoy most of your ride, friend, the poet announces...All I can say is, I have yet to ask to stop it. Enjoy, indeed! Thanks for adding to the recipe for happiness, begging questions...!
For what is an illusion without some form of a reality..
To be or not be, to say that, you are to be, because you are.
The shock of what, yes, depends of ones awakening..
Earlgrey, sorry I was a bit over the place in my comments but that's what you get, when you write, such a chimera of gargantuan proportions.
I shall enjoy the ride..

ah Earl...we all "see" you as you wish to be "seen" ...at the top of the arc of the first great drop, both hands in the air, in the front car, big smile on your face, looking down that long tracked abyss, and ready to yell your head off with sheer delight. Yup, it's gonna be a great ride I'd say...illusory or not! ;-)
you read me all too well, Goodguy,
The smoke and mirrors of isms... Life is a mystery, that's what makes it so great!
Thanks for 'seeing' me friend...
Macduff:
Very thought provoking....you know it is very hard "to be".
indeed, very hard, thanks for 'seeing' me friend...
What a truly awful thought, like a hampster on a spiked wheel that can never get off, or the Hotel California.

Thanks Carol, you have such wonderful humor...

Sir May I correct...."Call It Karma"...Illusion is not karma...it's maya...both are different...Nice one...u can gaze to a painiting for long...and gradually it'll disappear...maya...god's play..
Thanks for your kind comment, my reference to ‘karma’ was not the ‘maya’ = the illusion, but to the fact that some of us ‘wake up’, yet many do not...
