We stare in silent disbelief. With surrendered emotions we weep. For once again Mother Nature stirred. And a wave of tears rose from her oceans deep. Washing away generations, young and old. Whole families swept away. Out to sea from whence they came. Took that wave of tears on that fateful day. Why has He forsaken us? We do not understand. To unite us all maybe an answer!! All religions, colours walk now hand in hand. Forget our differences, suspicions and hates Resolve all our worries and fears. Let us never forget the day our lives changed Changed by that wave of tears.

About this poem:
I wrote the original to this for the 'St Stephens' day Tsunami and with little change I feel it would be OK to post it again today.
Seems Mother Nature wants some parts of herself to her own. She certainly has a furious and devestating way of showing us.
A wonderful poem.....creating a wave of tears deep inside of me.

Thank you all for your, once again, encouraging comments on such a very sad day for those souls in Japan. I am just thankful that I live in a part of the world that is spared these terrible events. I am also touched by how people of many nations offer their assistance as Niah has mentioned. Let's hope this tragedy will bring us all closer together.

To try to write something that conveys feelings of sorrow is difficult for me but having read these comments I realise that it was possible, even for me. Pilgrim I take your words as a complement as you are one of many whose poems I aspire to. Cristina thankyou also for your kind words.
Perhaps Mother nature is saying enough is enough. Prayers for the souls lost.

Very well written and a reminder that we are all one people on this living planet. Our hearts go out to that great nation in it's time of suffering.

Grandad--You're truly a 'Wonderful Sensitive Soul!' Your poems shine a LIGHT into Your Heart. Oh how our lives truly changed by--that wave of tears! We're so dependent on each other--and realize how small 'the world is'--when these terrible things happen--they affect so many all around the world. Why can't we just get along? We're all of 'One blood'--One Human Family. Bevbelle
