The Fertile Soil of a Memory
Tis rare to see such natural beauty,
that captures one's full attention,
much less a sight so marvelous,
it's glory maintains full retention.
When such experience as this I've said,
finds it's place within fertile mental soil,
a seed of vision grows within one's head,
saving that memory from forgot'n spoil.
Some find this rare and treasured jewel,
of visions etched upon memories wall,
in 'artsy clothing' of silk, yarn and wool,
while another might dwell on a waterfall.
There's pets & things, people & places too,
that find their way into memories domain,
and if only 'fond' memories we could 'view'
those we love most tis where we'd remain.
All this was said to bring to a conclusion,
that a wonderful memory for 'ME' twas made,
when upon fertile soil of 'my' mental illusion,
An image of a Lily named 'Liliane' was laid.

About this poem:
This poem was specifically written to (and for) a beautiful Brazilian Woman whom I've been blessed to share a bit of correspondence.
With her permission, I'm sharing this poem with the family and friends of poets corner.
She asked me to write a poem using a 'Lily' as part of the poem, being as her name 'Liliane' is derived from a Latin word meaning Lily.
This is what I came up with. Hope you all enjoyed it. Swade777

You're sweet to be so encouraging, but... I've found myself living in the 'real world'. And actually, I LOVE IT where I live!
Brazil has nothing to tempt me away from Oregon! (Except those pretty women!)
...when upon fertile soil of 'my' mental illusion... this image of 'Liliane' did appear, a well-versed poem was the only conclusion for this jeweled vision so dear.
This particular pen-pal in Brazil is really very much more a 'stranger' than a close connected corresponding pen-pal, as we've written to one another very little in all honesty. However, I find her to be very attractive, and had no problem writing the poem based upon her physical beauty alone. She's a sweet gal, I'm sure, but we really do not know one another at all. Always love the encouraging comments!
You have sealed her fate with this one.
