Christmas at Washington Square

The last time I saw Santa
he was hanging out by our tree,
rattling all the Christmas bulbs
while we wiped our eyes to see.

Sure enough he’s a cross-dresser
by don’t let that scare you away.
Nothing wrong with wearing red
and driving off in a sleigh.

Wish I could be with Santa
and give him a helping hand.
I admire his big heart and
his reindeer are nothing
short of grand.

Would take a ride through Central Park;
pay our respects to Washington Square.
Bet you didn’t know that to this day
the remains of at least 20,000 are buried there.

Washington said it best after crossing the Delaware;
He provided the inscription on the arch that says:

Let us raise a standard to which
the wise and the honest can repair.
The event is in the hand of God.

A charming poem dear.. It's interesting to read the quotes of the founding fathers..People don't talk that way anymore..They don't think that way either because they are utterly devoid of that debth of reasoning..Thank you.wine teddybear
