Sphinx

I see smiles
lips that move
the smooth talkin’
with fangs that drool.

In my younger days
would take you on
now that I’m older
here’s my swan song.

No passion to share
just look in my eyes
been used too much
I can read your lies.

Yesterday drifts
connect the dots
you’ll never capture
what’s left in my heart.

So as I drift
and sink...
into the Sphinx
You better run
before you think.

Hi, SundaySilence,
...you’ll never capture what’s left in my heart. It's reassuring to know that, while one still has a heart, one can connect the dots to protect it from destruction. Thanks for sharing.
SundaySilence
How right you are gnj.

Hi SS

You chronicled this very well, the note of cynicism was just right, avoiding the temptation to overdo it.

A nice write

I meant to add - as you (in my opinion) are much better looking than Rudolph Vaentino - maybe you could ditch his pic in favour of one of you... wink

Dear #1,
Thank you my friend. I'm doing fine and focusing on my projects right now. Get a little cynical when the music stops, but then again...it makes for good poetry. Love ya! teddybear
