I hurt your feelings the other day With words I felt I had to say. They weren't intended to be hurtful or mean But sometimes what's evident cannot be seen. At times we hid behind an invisable mask Because of what happened to us in the past. It's like an old adage in which I believe You can't see the forest because of the trees. To reflect on the past in numerous ways We wove them into the games that we often played. Some of us never face to the truth We throw up our hands and say,"Oh what's the use". 'tis then that our lives become only a sham And we need to have a change in our plans. You're a good person down deep in your soul - Face reality - let that be your goal.
