Somewhere a Rainbow Waits

Somewhere a Rainbow Waits

The future come as if a thief
To bear us some unwanted grief
Stealing our fire once burned to naught
Robbing dreams of lustful thought

Brings a day we no longer care
Nothing left to give you swear
When there's no fire that burns
And your heart no longer yearns

It's a creeping deadly bane
A poison in every vein
Hides the light from teary eyes
Hidden within it's horrid disguise

Maybe then we'll choose to see
That reason had abandoned thee
To jolt awake that once helpless lamb
Finally remembering who I am

Maybe soon this heart to save
Before you're laid to the grave
In time to help you heal
So your soul may again feel

Seeing all the years you can't replace
Finding whatever remains of grace
Loving her was your greatest sin
Knowing now where you've been

You should have seen those signs
And read between the lines
Nothing is left there you see
No reason to not break free

The day of reckoning and more
Chase the dark clouds from your door
The storm ripped apart your soul
Leaving behind that gaping hole

Don't wait till tomorrow
Clouds pass and so will sorrow
The sunshine returns on those dates
And somewhere a rainbow waits

About this poem:
A tale about life, one we all have been through, and I hope found that rainbow after the storm passed.
