Making my life...

To live or not to live,
That is the only question,
Yesterday I spent all day in hospital,
Not unusual, but this time, I was the patient,
They settled me in a nice quiet corner booth, yum, loved it for what I had in mind...,
In the booth next to me, a young woman was being given emergency treatment for a heart attack,
Across from me, a man with acute appendicitis was moaning not so softly, whilst they attached all kinds of IV’s to him,
I love hospitals,
I especially love going to visit my friends and ‘others’ at the psychiatric ward,
Their antics are hilarious,
I sometimes feel they’re the only ‘real’ characters on the Shakespearian worldly stage,
I go to hospitals betimes, to rest, to think, to cogitate, its odd, but you can go into a nice deep trance in an atmosphere filled with urgency if you know how to,
At one point I was awakened from my spell by a woman screaming in agony, and the cries of a newborn braving this world,
The screams subsided and pleasant chatter ensued amongst the excited family members[mom doing just fine...],
I sent them much love and welcomed the little one to our dimension, and, promptly fell back into Hypnos’ deep lap...,
They took six hours to get to me[just as well I needed the rest...],
By then, I had had a glorious sleep and I felt not only much refreshed but healed as well...,
Your analyses and X-rays show you’re as healthy as a newborn Doc, was the verdict,
Of course, by that time I knew it,
But smiled gratefully anyway,
I thanked them all for their graciousness and went on my way,
A new man,
Ready to face another decade or so, that’s how rarely hospitals see me for me...

Thus, I sculpt my life,
Moment by moment,
I do my best to forget yesterdays,
And not to dream of tomorrows,
After all, is there any other moment other than now???

I am convinced(for the moment)that though we experience time moving in one direction. what we really perceive is not a building up,but a taking away of paint on the wall revealing the present. that time in truth moves in the opposite direction and the universe has yet to create itself in some far distant past. how else could one sometimes know the future yet always seem so locked in yesterday...elo

Hi EGT

I'm usually so in tune with your philosophies, and whilst I'm fine forgetting yesterdays... and enjoying the moment (i.e. now). Are you really saying we should not dream of tomorrow? Might I not muse that my tomorrows may be a Hell of a lot more contented and fulfilling than my today? I spend my life dreaming of what still might be...

Cheers buddy...

I agree earl, the present is all we have, but we can't ignore that the "now" take us to our future. Nice write Earl, thank you for sharing this bouquet

hey dear Bill,
thank you for your precious and erudite comment... of course we should dream of tomorrow, but, sometimes, our tomorrows are built by the steps we take in the now..., supposing we have a clue as to whats going on, some experts are now saying none of us have a clue..., lol... food for thought?
love and light...
