TWO SIDES.
Two sides of love, known well
Opposite emotion, spreads a spell
Giving explosion, happiness kind
Or darker side, we can act blind
No path of love, smooth-unchanged
Hope to experience, happier range
Life play games, expect up-downs
A smile replaced, with sad frown
Relationship mine fields, rough-smooth
Unable to select, and the better choose
Is love an experience, just for the young
Or do the mature, get hearts stung?
Do some experience, love of sheer bliss
Though many heartaches, end with a kiss
What if long distance, a reality factor
Uncertainty at times, hold lovers capture
For many true love, never runs smooth
At times believing, you're stuck in a groove
To hang in there, the only way to go
Trust, love and patience, just seeds you sow
Sharing a life, can be the prize
As with confidence, you rise
To an outcome, happiness based
Strength together, life's demons faced...….

I once read that distance is only a test to show just how far your love can travel.
I have friends and family members who overcame such a test and they are very happy :)
I have since edited the wording and added a couple of verses......but can I say I agree totally with your comment......Kathy
No path of love, smooth-unchanged — nor would we want it any other way, for only through change can love grow. To the poet's question Is love an experience, just for the young...? , I surmise, Love is for anyone brave enough to open themselves to its possibilities. There are neither guarantees to the young nor to the not-as-young. Enjoyed exploring the verses of TWO SIDES. Thanks for sharing.
