WHEN THE WORLD STOOD STILL

Embedded image from another site

Suddenly the world stood still
Silence spread across the land
Not even the song of a bird trill
Every peep and movement banned

A feared darkness spread over all
Inhabitants tucked in their abodes
Not wanting company coming to call
Afraid that the darkness would implode

At first desiring for all to be normal
To get back to the way things were
But were things really abnormal
And a permanent change about to occur

For out of the darkness good things came
Bravery – kindness – caring – new friends
Supporting others – not knowing their name
For no doubt the World had transcend

Kathy ~
The talented way that you put the English language onto paper always amazes me. You have the inept talent of being able to paint an audio picture.
So beautiful!

I agree that perhaps the abnormal will now become the norm ~ and maybe in some realms that just might be for the better. I actually have made some new 'friends' during this trying time. I've been more prone to comment on remarks made on social media sites, and in doing so have encountered some very nice & very interesting people.

I have been in closer contact with some old friends ( such as yourself), and because of that have again started to pay attention to CS. Thank you for that Kathy.

May God Bless us and keep us all safe.

Hi, godsprincess,
For out of the darkness good things came
Bravery – kindness – caring – new friends

Let's hope good things can continue to blossom in this season of love and renewal. Thank you for sharing your lovely abab-rhyming quatrains with us.

Yes Joy - the time did stand still for everyone to reevaluate their lives - had hoped the new normal would be kinder and more patient. However, right now I'm finding people are getting very restless and falling back into their old ways about not caring about others as the Social Distancing keeps going on. So sad.

Thank you Joy Crest - yes here we are 3 months since we went into shutdown - we are still only 1/2 way back started up in New York State - Phase 3. No graduation ceremonies yet - virtual school out early for the summer - no summer school - no summer sports and returning to school in the fall is still iffy. Life will not be the same for a very long time again if ever.

With the wild fires and the eerie smoke from Canada and our world heating up - restlessness - war - migration, etc. the world is even more unstable then ever. Prayers badly needed.
