Deej's Lament

Deej’s Lament
Where is it you would like to go, where shall I take you to play today?
What toys should I bring along upon our quest for joy and pleasure?
Do you have any plans upon this glorious day to distract us from our sorrow?
Relieved I would be to spend my time, my days, these lonely minutes outside my head.

How can I entice you to go, to come out and play, away from your dungeons sway?
Is it innuendo s*xual that shall entice you from your cave and pains treasure?
Can I bring us a book to distract us from our inner pain now, today, and tomorrow?
Ah, but just for a moments escape I fear, for surely we must soon face our dread.

Yet, upon this day, and the next, or moment to moment, anything to bring you solace
While I too may silently wallow in my quagmire of loss and shame, your surcease I seek
To ease your pain I believe would bring me relief, to see the laughter upon your voice
With this, my anguish eases and I find color returns to my dull and listless world, if but a spark

For in my pain, where often we believe miserable companionship sought, I demand your release
For where I may, can, or will not find relief, joy when your happiness is evident does creep
I may deserve this loss, and my durance vile is justly brought for my poor made choice
Yet within your happiness I find my spirit set free to spend any time with you, each moment to mark
