I used to tell people that I grew up so far out in the sticks that the sticks got lonely. A one thousand acre farm, on a huge lake, as a child it was magical. But as a child you do not understand that your father is only foreman on the farm. That the farm won't always be there for you.
Can't wait to have time to write more!
My youngest brother and I were always very close and I remember writing this for him when his son was born. OH MY! I went to his house for Christmas this year and got to meet his new grandson. What happened to that little boy I knew??? He's now a Grandpa. Where does time go?
This a controversial piece about the gun from it's humble beginning to it's ugly presence in modern times, written in December 2012 and now posted in January 2013, don't fall victim to....."The Way Of The Gun"
This is Part 2 of this poem as it was too long to post in one posting. so here is the conntinuing part to "The Way Of The Gun" (2012)
There was a time in my childhood when I was bullied and tormented by the other children, all due to numerous surgery on my eyes. I loved the weeping willow and found a haven under it. I still have a soft spot for them. I am lucky enough to live just a few blocks from the world famous Rideau Canal which is almost 125.5 miles long, and has paths along it. BamBam and I frequently walk along it and stop to sit under a willow and watch the world go by. In the summer the willows are just magnificent. In the winter it becomes the largest skating rink in the world, at almost 5 miles from one end to the other.
This is poem of my earlier life and the drastic results from Nagoora Burrs...in Horses manes and tails and saddle gear..sometimes funny .sometimes with devastating results..QH. ....M.B.Poems is my copyright...
Woke up this morning to a strange day The year was 2013 Now life is lived in the strange way A way I had never seen Once I rode with the lone ranger And a close friend to superman But now I feel like such a stranger Living in a strange land
Had a similar exp with a group of friends (5) we got it up and going and used a string that span 5 kilometres ...when it hit the mark it was still quite low ..after half An hour we decided to reel it in..it was total chaos and lots of bravado each one lasting not more than ten mins ..after 5 hours and with another 5 friends rope in to help ..we finally cut the string and ran home with our tails between our legs ..by the way ours was the only kite that flew the highest and longest ..our competitor got their string snapped halfway and it crash on top of the flat ..we never played kite again
This is a nostalgia piece I have written for all the children and would be children who liked going to....."The Fairground" (Amusement Parks)
i spilled a coffee on the beach i saw a wasp land on my peach i took a swig of irn bru and thought of me, yes, me and you and how we laughed when the cyclist fell and broke his arm and leg as well but those days are gone and am back on datin
I'd like to hear an old song today Spinnin round 45 I'd like to hear it in the old way Spinnin round 45 Let the music stir my soul Feel good and tap my feet Nothing like yesterday's rock n roll When every song had that beat The record pla
I'm grateful for the silent time To think and make a plan When the morning world is mine I do because I can. I love the quietude of dawn Before the sun's completely up I rub my eyes and give a yawn And fill once more my coffee cup.
we all have heard that lilting tune "the day the music died" but we all know that's not the case let's put all that aside let''s go to the beginning where the whole thing was unlatched discover now, just what went on the day the music h
Rain . . . Softly falling down . . . each drop a symphony of sound . . . as it hits the tin roof . . . tap . . . tap . . . tap. It can sound just like a sad song with a slow beat . . . the kind that makes you daydream . . . and feel
This is an exercise in brevity with weight...
This poem shows my views on life in general, we try to reach out for an uncertain future believing various fallacies will bring us through, religion, hope, faith, belief, are not written in stone we make our own way in life and the direction we take is always unfamiliar as the promises of tomorrow brings, afterall tomorrow never comes, we live in an eternal present with only our past to guide us.
The mask you wear breeds mystery The eyes of sheer intensity A dimming star with no reason or rhyme Purposely, constantly falling through time Who alone would stop this flight Through somber tales of endless night Rapt inside the c

Just a thoughtless scribble.
There comes a point when you want to be someone's first choice.
An astrological poem..lol
I think as we walk unbeaten tracks we sometimes see such graves yet they must have once been loved
Like the sun that shines oh so brightly You’ll never mistake her for when she struts around. You’ve heard of a feisty cat, a royalty In the middle of the spotlight there she can be found. Don’t be deceived by her femininity and wit For she def
Ever noticed how often a few polite emails and then they are gone, lost forever as if they never existed. What a strange world this "Cyber" world is at times. So I suppose "Houdini" is a good title for one who disappears without trace. Maybe some dont know of "Houdini" but he was the most famous escapologist ever known.
This is a parody of We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel. I made this list from a Billboard Top 40 book I have, and my own enjoyment of some awesome music during that decade and since. I hope you find some good music in this list.
Sitting here I am lonely, Thinking of you. I wish you were here, Beside me, By the fire.... I'd really love, Your arms around me. But distance, Makes my heart desire.... Then, I call your name. Staring into, The candle flame, I
Suppose I am in nostalgia mode, my grandad. :) He was a great sailor round cape horn! I do think towards how his life was many years before. I have his stories, I am glad happy that he shared them with me. But then I was so inquisitive! To ask and sit with wonderment yet sadness. Soph.
I have been watching this show since it's beginning in 2002. I guess my real appeal to the show is seeing the bad singers get ripped by the judges. Last night Charlie Askew really got a major ripping by all the judges, but Niki Minaj was especially harsh with her comments about his earring, ponytail, and showing his muscles. He walked off the stage, that doesn't happen, I felt for him. The song he picked wasn't bad either, Mama by Genesis.

I haven't been able to golf as much as I like lately. I paid for one round last year and got three from family and a friend. I used to be his big buddy and now he sells cell phones and is making something like five grand a month, probably more now. All I know is he makes more than teachers make, and in my book, that's a lot!
more childhood memories
a continuation of my childhood in East Africa I am doing a blog including these poems in it
This is a true story and it tells of how ships were protected from running aground on on hazardous reefs near coastal ports, it is called.... "The Lighthouse" Editor: Marikia Written: 5 February 2013
endless but unchangable
To be chased amongst the waves to only pray the sands are near dripping souls so wasted within the wreck of booms silently folding to the sea the roar of untimed curses melting to the weed no silent stay would be upon the wretche
My soul melted away in the twilight of such day as the sigh of silk is ripped the soul! As in the giddy waltz has turned earth the day is gone the night has come in the dreams I wander among the stars and the moon on the dark earth embrace
Sometimes talking to yourself can allow you to unlock things that will allow you to realize why you are the person you are both in the positive and negative
I have both albums on record. I would say I listened to Thiller more than Purple Rain. I have a hard time picking which songs I liked better. I did like Beat It, Billie Jean, PYT, Wanna Be Startin Something, The Girl Is Mine, and Thriller. I liked When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U, Baby I'm A Star, Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy, Take Me With U, and Darling Nikki off of Prince's Purple Rain album.
