just a love letter.
The roses have just started to bloom here in my lovely garden, they are the harbinger of love, how better to extol them, than a sonnet.
In surveying the general political scene world wide, economy of truth appears to be ' stock on trade', ushered in by smooth rhetoric.
New Year resolution…
I wrote this poem in 2000 after I finished a course, 'Nigeria Legal System' in my second year at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma where I read Civil Law. I found the blend of both edges of the law fascinating. This will be better understood by people who understand the legal system of the Commonwealth of Nations as well as Christians who understand what Apostle Paul meant by the Law and Grace in his epistles.
This goes out to a poetess friend whose passion for love, nature & poetry never fails to inspire me.
in a busy life we forget our cultural values, so we are loosing so many things in life
This poem is about me and my girlfriend and the weekends we have together
Sonnets are not really my bag, bit too disciplined for me, but I thought I would have a crack at one.
The triumph of our spirit over life….. is love.
A traveling salesman upon meeting an old'timer Yankee farmer.
Farming is a fickle business. You really must be willing to work with as well as wait for Mother Nature; and have tons of courage, cunning, and faith in order to succeed when so many others fail.
i like the meaning of love and how it spoke true
It seemed like the thing to do at the time.
Just thought fluttering around in my head.
This is about someone who has loved their friend for so long that they can not stand to let their love be with someone else. The person is then contemplated by the fact that the beauty of their love will not leave their mind, causing that person extreme anguish. I wrote this when I felt that even though it wasn't a serious experience for my ex, them being so lovey-dovey with someone else right before my eyes, was the greatest pain I have ever went through before. This is just my piece of amateur work, but it does express my true emotions even now.
Listen now carefully, what do you hear? sounds abound as you tune in to listen universe of noise fills the stratosphere birds singing, rustling leaves in transition Blades of grass crackle sounding like gun fire the trickle of the brook har
This sonnet is written as a sublime portals of slightly warmer runoff water enters a slowly swollen stream just beginning to rise with the coming of the first warm rains of spring over a land still frozen in winter time.
Written In tribute to my fellow poet, Cafetwo2010, and his poem called “Crossroads”, for you Jim, because you are such a great source of much inspiration to others here on the corner.
I picked up the phone Many times tonight Waiting for your messages about a life you had before The ghosts of love waiting at my door My heart, It feels anticipation my soul, it aches apprehensive in mind As the ghosts of love Knock once
Within Elysium Dreams love does shine.
Oh! how much is not our business when it really ought to be, lip service a cunning tool that we apply.
visual beauty is but transient, but internal beauty is immortal
improvement can't like you
Love is just like a dance
A fantasy sonnet about dinosaurs being 'true angels' once living on our planet and down through the ages we mortals have arose but are still waiting their return. It's kind of a strange poem even for my standards not to take anything away from Botticelli who so inspires me with his "Birth of Venus", but maybe he got it all wrong?? :))
There is more than one way to say 'I love you'. what better form than a 'sonnet'.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gently rained the clouds as the years went by Years turning to centuries past forgotten Propagating sin allowed not to die Waiting once more for its time to lay rein Gentle wind whispering little girls ear I
Feeling a little philosophical this morning...
My love my heart hungers to touch your soul To return the two back into just one To make a diamond out of the gray coal To stay when fear makes me just want to run You have captured my imagination Freed me from the prison I was held in Gave
Many thoughts staring out my window my mind drifting away to another time when a late summer night blossoms thoughts still wonderimg what might become of love and life.
Trying to fathom the deepest sense of despair of those who have no place to call home.
This poem is a commentary on the invasive pace of modern lifestyles. "To boldly goes where no one has gone before" epitomizes a spirit much different than a child's natural shyness. I was such a child, once shy and fearful of life. With so many uncertainties about the direction of society, harm to environment, and political misgivings...is anyplace safe anymore?
Softly the breeze flows through scented meadows gentle sounds of water from the rivers and haunting notes of music crescendos in the distant background from the speakers A cascading shower of climbing roses she waits for her lover impatiently
