A DISTINCTION WITHOUT A DIFFERENCE

A DISTINCTION WITHOUT A DIFFERENCE

I had to keep on the run
From the horizon to the sun
So I ran
Only always as a different man
One day I decided to be with the F.B.I.
I wouldn’t have had breath if I didn’t lie
I learned to steal I.D. and put my picture instead
Again things became banal so I started treating people in a hospital bed
I yearned to be a doctor in the emergency ward
So I went about forging diplomas so much I eventually grew bored
So then I got me a badge which is hard to believe
But I’m telling you, it’s a real gas to deceive
Fools don’t really check things out if you appear as they think you should
I was a mechanic and I did it real good
Suddenly I had a hankering to become a defender of the poor
So I forged some documents and a lawyer walked through the courtroom door
Now, I suppose, you’re going to ask me about the people I left behind
I didn’t find it sad to leave but many of them stick to my mind
But when you don’t know who you really are
And feel as if you’re simply an earthly scar
I felt like an infection who inflicted fiction fantasies and tales
And yes, of course I’ve talked my way out of many prisons and/or jails

GROWING YEAR BY FEAR

By one I was done
I didn’t know what to do at two
Believe me, I was far from free at three
Four was a bore
At five I didn’t wish to survive
At seven I was ready for heaven
I learned how to astronomically hate at eight
Then at nine I took to wine
I was repulsed by most men at ten
I learned there is a Hell and Heaven at eleven
no one cared to delve in to 12
ain’t much I hadn’t seen by thirteen
Times I didn’t cause havoc were lean at fourteen
The universe turned mean at fifteen
And I was mentally sick at sixteen
I O.D.’d and it was heaven I swear to have seen at seventeen
At eighteen I was finally set free and ran with every degenerate denigrated by disgust and dehydration the rich chose to ignore
And at nineteen….well, need I say more?

THE FINAL REALIZATION

The Final Realization

Sitting in front of the window of my house TODAY
so far AWAY
from the smell of my village CLAY
where i used to LAY
i remember all the things of my journey WAY
from that village to this city near the very BAY
now where my house has it GATEWAY
thinking about the people i BETRAY
the mind game i used to PLAY
i dont feel OKAY
have u heard of the word called DECAY
that what has happened in my chest TRAY
i wish there was a button called UNSAY
for the rubbish i have said till this MAY
i wish there was a button called REPLAY
so that i could undo many conversation and start with a 'HEY'
i wish there was a button called DELAY
to slow the time of the peaceful moments so a lil long they could STAY
i dont belong here i am like a STRAY
there is no light here not even a single RAY
in this darkness what can i do beside to PRAY
oh god please punish me for the sins and make me PAY
but please give me the strength to say sorry to those, whom i dont have the guts to SAY

The Emotions Behind A Friend Request

yes i have sent u a friend REQUEST

its been sent to u after a long QUEST

u dont know how much time i have INVEST

to see its accepted or not i cant REST

my profile is not good i know i am not the BEST

but why u consider me like a PEST

its a simple thing but dont know why cant u DIGEST

seeing my proposal rejected i feel a pain in my CHEST

i dont think that its a nice way to treat ur GUEST

i know i am not that MODEST

but my dear i am very HONEST

and that you can TEST

for u i could have been a loyal friend to HARVEST

but now u have declnied and i cant PROTEST

i can just SUGGEST

that dont judge a person by only his face CREST

even a face like me can have a heart which is GREATEST

Gazing from my Windows

Gazing from my Windows
Oressie Simmons

Will society eventually weaken and numb me, blinding my eyes to what I’m actually supposed to see!

From these windows in which I stand I’m able to gain a glance of the meager and as well as the grand.

Although they measure just .09 I’m able to define.

Life!

For it’s not the lavish, beautiful or gangster images I observe or any other adjective selfish self-promoting sounding verb.

By treating others how you want to be treated because by going so evil will always be defeated.

Do ya’’ll think?

So why not embrace the differences in one another because the human race will go heaps further turning my foe into my brother.

For my window represents a lens, enabling me to see great compassion as well as the deplorable sins.

Of society!

My human filters are always in focus allowing me the time to recognize and notices the real from the bogus.

In situations!

Showing me humanities’ bigotry, racism and prejudice from above, my windows give me a perfect view on how people love.

As well as hate.

These windows have been my key, giving me the insight where before I could not see, allowing me to diagnose society as it must be.

So what if I see all the clues and the world still eventually lose, for who can I blame for I have no team in this game and if I lose and the world win it’s still the same, a damn shame yet I’ll be still looking out my windows the same.

Never say never

Never say never because the one you invite today could be your tomorrow's ideal partner,

Never say never because once you're online the bundle of texts is what you receive,

Never say never because only God knows fun is what we here for.

Time

Time takes all of us
we ride the carousel
til dusk
We walk into the rain
and rust
like metal chains
oblivious
it obvious that time is sure
the world goes on the passing
pure
The bleak and tragic end assured
to all of us
we'll pass as dust
The presence of companions
The drinks and smoke of champions
in love with life's abandonment
with us the time is spent
and lovers come and loves go
in days with women well and woe
and sometimes one can take a hold
but folded hands in grip let go
I promise you my dying day
the bitter end sometime away
I'll cleave to you
I hope you stay
so kind
for time

A Defiance to Old Age

Thou shalt not rob me,thievish Time, Of all my blessings or my joy; I have some jewels in my heart Which thou art powerless to destroy. Thou mayest denude my arm or strength, And leave my temples seamed and bare; Deprive mine eyes of passion's light, And scatter silver o'er my hair. But never, while a book remains, And breathes a woman or a child, Shalt thou deprive me while I live Of feelings fresh and undefiled. No, never while the earth is fair, And reason keeps its dial bright, Whate'er thy victories o'er my frame, Thou canst not cheat me of this truth: That, though the limbs may faint and fail, The spirit can renew its youth. So, thievish Time, I fear thee not; Thou'rt powerless on this heart of mine; My precious jewels are my own, 'Tis but the settings that are thine.

AN AUGUST POEM

With our gifts of lovely sight
The August sun shines brillant light
The soft wind plays lively bright
The pale moon paints a sultry night
A romantic sweet cool delight
With cloudless sky, perfectly right,
For moonbeams' radiance of golden white.

LOVE LINES

If true love will find you someday
Let it just forever stay,
Keep it, don't drive love away
Good feelings inspire your way.

Take a journey together
Earth life is not forever
Make love stay in mind and heart
Light in us can't just depart.
