the cast system is a completely outrageous thought process and should be outlawed, everybody being born equal should be treated equally. The rich should be taxed to alleviate the suffering of the rural population, land ownership should in vested in the names of the people farming the land and they should be paid fair prices for there produce.
All public files should digitized to stamp out corruption. The homeless people sleeping on the streets should be found accommodation, fresh water should be made available to all the people and the cows should be enclosed in paddocks to stop them from crapping all over the place.

Once the countries implemented those your welcome to ask for the next steps...

I think most countries are that way to a degree. Is it not a bit unfair only to point out negatives. I'm just thinking of the beauty of the Moti Mahal and I don't mean the Curry house at the end of the high street. Then there's those crazy scooter taxis and the beautifully adorned elephants you see being ridden. I believe they have a very rich culture and of course the legacy of Ghandi.conversing

India used to be the place to go in the sixties, The hippie trail, but it's lost much of it's mystery now and the poverty is tragic when rich Indians still live in such opulence. There is still the colour of India and the different way of life. Good for a holiday, your bucks will buy you more but to live---- no way.grin cool

Absolutely, I adored India, it's unforgettable and I totally fell in love with it.

But the grinding poverty and filth that so many live in on a day-to-day basis is also unforgettable .. and also unforgiveable when compared with the astounding wealth and comfort enjoyed by some.

Any culture or religion that thinks, inbreeding makes you or your bloodline strong is wrong in my opinion.
When inbreeding kills young girls and causes so many disorders and deformities something is wrong!
The Hindu faith can be adjusted to fit with the world today, it is worth keeping!

My brother and sister visited Amritapuri to help build houses after the Tsunami years ago.

I would like to visit it in the future, now that I know the *why* they went there to help them

Sorry but I have no interest in India. Everything I have seen about it makes me cringe at the thought of ever visiting. It is overpopulated, dirty and so many people live in extreme poverty.

My heart goes out to those children that are born there and left to fend for themselves. It is heartbreaking...
