Ok so I'm a hypocrite. I do eat meat but if I had to hunt for it I'd be a vegetarian. When I eat meat I'm not thinking about the fact that I'm eating an animal. I would like to try and give it up but I do love chicken and beef :( I just don't understand when hunters tell me they love nature and bucks are beautiful animals. So why do they enjoy killing them?????

I realize I might come off "holier than thou" I don't mean to insult you or any other hunter. Some of my best friends are hunters lol. I honestly just don't understand it.
I had always been anti-hunter and it worked fine for me. But as time went on, my prospective dating partners become fewer and far between. I found myself needing to adjust. The hunting thing wasn't such a important thing to me. So I allowed myself to date hunters and low and behold... I find that they're more often than not - very decent human beings. I had previously thought many things about hunters that have NO bearing to real life. One thing I still feel is that guns should be kept out of the reach of young people and off city streets. It's like something I heard Hillary say the other day (though not about hunting..) people need to find their points in common rather than just run with the things they exaggerate to divide them.
Few things beat the thrill of facing down an angry cottontail. Those beady, angry eyes seem to glare into the very pitts of your soul, just daring you to pull the trigger of your pellet gun, knowing damn well that if you miss, or your shot doesn't hit a vital organ, you're history. That's one reason I always drink heavily when I hunt: it takes the edge of my terror, and provides the moral fortitude to do what has to be done.
I'll confess, I think a deer is too pretty to shoot. Call me a weenie. I'm not a hunter. Don't own a shotgun, but I love fried rabbit. Not sure what that says, if anything?
I regard deer as cockroaches with long, prancing legs (after hitting one, and narrowly missing another). I'm really not into hunting, but I think I could almost enjoy shooting one of them...
Having lived in France for many years "dans la campagne" and now living in Spain "en el campo" and not being a hunter I feel qualified to launch myself into this thread. Why do I want to live a hermit's existence in the country?,........because I want to see wild creatures from time to time! Do I? I hear a lot of "bang bang" especially on a weekend (I really am starting to think that wild creatures are starting to realise what a weekend is) but do I see nature in the raw? No. I hope you people who buy your camoflague gear in the supermarket because it is "the thing to do" enjoy the fruits of your hunt....but is a sparrow a satisfying meal? Because there ain't much left around here to hunt.....The theory now is...if it moves shoot it.Which includes, occasionally, other hunters
Tried to join in the poll, voting none of the above ok explain but there is no apparent way of explaining,so will do it here.Could it have something to do with machoism? Not seen a lot of female type lady persons on the business end of a gun,I have to say.....
Here in Montana, I do hunt and am not afraid to say so. I hunt for the meat, it is healthy. Much cheaper than buying in the store. Some here do it for the wall mount, I don't agree with that. But I have learned that if we didn't have hunters, a lot of the animals here would die from weather, sickness, and age. So there is pros and cons to it. And yes, here in Montana woman to hunt and hold rifles

Just like my brother says, it's either a part of you or it's not. We weren't brought up to think of getting trophy's for the wall, just to put food on the table
