I dont care if someone sits in there house all day and smokes it to there flat on there back.
What does concern me,as with alcohol,is the irresponsible ones that will make life uncomfortable for there families,or drive a vehicle, putting others in danger.

felixis99: actually that is a completely untrue character assassination. here is what my profile actually says: (and you can just stay away from my profile I am pretty creeped out about now)

From my Profile:

"If you smoke or take any type of recreational drugs tho, things probably won't work out."

Character assassination...why would you say that?

On here you stated..."my big thing is not allowing ANY "substance" control me or affect my judgement. I do not care if it is legal or not....I am the one in cntrol of myself."

And yet in your profile you say that you 'drink' occasionally. Do you not consider alcohol to be a drug that can affect your judgement?

dunno

oh and btw, anyone, member or not, can view your profile at will.

michael63ca: yeah, tried it once a long time ago didn't like it, it only made me sick never bothered with it again. sure it has its medicinal purposes maybe, personally I don't care if people want to waste their time and smoking it "recreationally" they just won't be doing it around me. This kid has no time for pot heads. .

Georgiapeachgirl: I am against it. People are just as stupid on pot as they are on pills, powerder, alcohol, etc.

thumbs up thumbs up
AND I KNOW SOMEONE WHO LOVES SMOKING MARIJUANA AND LOOOOVES DRINKING ALCOHOL AND GETTING DRUNK. HE IS LIKE.. .. UGH!! doh

Maybe...but time and time again people sit in on their high horse in judgement of others on this cannabis question. And yet, as with the poster I quoted, openly admit to taking a drug that has been unquestionably proven to be potentially more damaging than cannabis.

Seems a little hypocritical to me.

I agree with you and have the occasional smoke in the UK ( not in Finland where it is very illegal). But I think she may me alluding to the social acceptability of alcohol as opposed to other drugs, and not to the relative harm of these substances. Although in the UK the police turn a blind eye to amounts of cannabis for own use, it is still illegal and a moral case could be made in this respect. May I add I think blow is the better of the two with respect to harm to the body.

Alcohol has its good points though. Alcohol is a social lubricant from which business deals, friendships and love interests spring. Alcohol can be social and support a functional and adult way of life. Alcohol can be valuable to civilisation. Smoking weed is always juvenile and dysfunctional, it is solely selfish in that the only nice effect from weed is experienced by the person smoking it, but it has a completely negative and anti-social effect on civilisation.

Well as blow is widely used in the UK at all levels and all ages of society God help civilisation. Although I agree that alcohol has been used by men (and some animals) from time immemorial and alcohol was involved in most momentous events in civilisation. Let us not forget that great seat of learning for alcohol The University.

Obstinance_Works: I don't disagree, but I'd say that this not all that much considering that almost every single adult drinks alcohol to some extent. If weed was smoked as commonly as alcohol was drunk then the economy would stall. Although people would never smoke weed like they drink alcohol because of mankind's sociability and aversion to being a shut-in. Not that many would beocme stoners because they've got a life to live.

I totally agree that individual harm from too much alcohol is highly visibile and destructive, but my point is that weed has only ever, and can only ever, satisfy the selfish good.

I'm not too sure what you mean by 'satisfy the selfish good'
Pot smoking from what I remember of it, was very much a social and gregarious activity. Maybe that has changed these days and as with alcohol the danger lies with solo participation...a slippery slope indeed.

bodleing2: And just for good measure...

The psychiatric disorders which are associated with alcoholism include major depression, dysthymia, mania, hypomania, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, personality disorders, schizophrenia, suicide, neurologic deficits (e.g. impairments of working memory, emotions, executive functions, visuospatial abilities and gait and balance) and brain damage. Alcohol dependence is associated with hypertension, coronary heart disease, and ischemic stroke, cancer of the respiratory system, and also cancers of the digestive system, liver, breast and ovaries. Heavy drinking is associated with liver disease, such as cirrhosis. Excessive alcohol consumption can have a negative impact on aging.

Is "Blow" a name for Marijuana in the UK? Or are you talking about Cocaine? I only ask because that is one word that is used for Cocaine here. If someone were to ask if they could find some "Blow" in a crowd that is into drugs and such they would think they were asking for Cocaine. Funny how little things like that sound so different in other places...but please, if you did mean Cocaine it is no offense to me, I don't indulge but I am sure plenty of people do from all classes. Just never saw the word used for marijuana.

Hi Jack, is "charas" pronounced similar to "Chair"?? If so people might be surprised if someone said " come on in and have a chair, it's been a long day" laugh but of course that's in english..I don't know if it is spoken there very often. Is it Jack?

ok, so there is a "system" the have there. Well, I know in the past that when I travel, and here too.. I just do my best to stay out of places that I could get mistaken for the wrong guy. Just to be on the safe side. Sometimes just having long hair makes people suspicious, but not like many years ago. These days everyone seems to look different anyway.
