Thanks for pointing out the destroying life effects it has on people. Many people don't realize that it does destroy your life. I've watched my brother do it for years and it got him into harder drugs. I'm glad your brother is doing great! I don't think people seiously understand what they look and act like when they are "stoned".

I also cannot stand the smell....it's not the smoke so much as the odor and if a neighbor is using it the odor will permeate walls, ceilings and floors. users are typically not very considerate people overall, in my expereince so that knowledge is not going to stop them EVEN if there is a threat of being caught

you've missed the point of my comment. the mugshots posted are meth users, not pot smokers and this thread is about the former.
It has never been proven that it is a gateway drug and, in fact, the medicinal uses of this plant are huge. Alcohol, in my opinion, is far more destructive.
I never tried it but people do use it too much here.Its quite cheap here as well.A good quility Marihuna small stich comes here in only couple of dollars where as a bottle of dry gin made in pakistan will cost 10 dollor
In the UK pot or blow is tolerared in amounts for personal use. I have tried it, but not in Finland as it is illegal here. I had no ill effects.
StillOfTheNight: From my personal experiences and what I have seen, Marijuana is nowhere near as harmful as alcohol. I tried my share of different drugs in the past but Marijuana is the only buzz I go for.

Destroy is too strong a word for such a tedious addiction.
I'm not convinced that if there wasn't any weed around then this would mean that there would be less cokeheads, only that the cokeheads start coke younger.
People run the risk of creating hysteria about the negative effects of weed, which plays into the hands of the potheads because you'll make them right for all the wrong reasons. The rationale for opposing weed should be that it's the first line of taboo, and you want the first line of taboo to be something that isn't devastating because a lot of people are going to do it.

there is so much talk about having a smoke free environment , you can not have a cigarette in a restaurant or on a patio.. can't smoke here or there or have to be 5 ft ( or whatever the ft number is ) away from a building. cant smoke in public places ... and then they want to legalize marijuana ... are they NUTS!!!!
they talk about the cigarette and the damage it does and how it should be band.....but they ignore and don't mention the alcoholism and how it destroys lives... or the selling or black market of prescription drugs and the problems involved with this but they want to legalize marijuana ??????? How about if they ban all tobacco and all alcohol products world wide, but legalise Cannabis? Now that would be a law I could understand and support.
I have had experiences where the person that had smoked Marijuana totally lost it and became extremely angry and seemed to think ahead in his mind (fantasizing)as he thought I was going to attack him (paranoia), He was 3 times my size easily and it took several people to hold him down. ( my girlfriend and I went out with our friend from work and her boyfriend (the one that went beserk) But before that he cut my girlfriends forehead open and kicked me down three flights of concrete and Iron stairs. Just as Alcohol is tolerated by some people and even tobacco, so it is with Marijuana that it can have extreme effects on some people, and not always so great. Though many times people assume that I use Marijuana because of my lifestyle, I am one that does not tolerate it well. It gives me a heightened feeling of extreme anxiety. And these days it is even stronger than the "good ole days". The idea of completely banning things that have been allowed for centuries usually will result in extreme rebellion. But it is always interesting to speculate. I am surprised they have not made it legal here and just tax it like crazy. I am sure there is some reason they have not done that already. Well, that is my 2 cents. LOL.

They cant even attempt to their job back. He basically said, it is illegal under federal laws, so there. What is more important smoking pot or a job? Do you really want your dr. to perform surgery on you if he was stoned? I smoked pot when I was 21, and couldn't see what was so cool about it. I went skydiving instead, now that was a HIGH! Adrenaline, best drug on the planet!

yeah, tried it once a long time ago didn't like it, it only made me sick never bothered with it again. sure it has its medicinal purposes maybe, personally I don't care if people want to waste their time and smoking it "recreationally" they just won't be doing it around me. This kid has no time for pot heads. should they legalize it? sure.It's human nature for people to want something they can't have, legalize it and there won't be such a big demand for it.
Just to mention, I heard an interview the other daywith Ginger Baker, the great Drummer. He said he smoked it for 50 years. He said" You can be off it for three weeks and it does not bother you".

In Macedonia my wife was a Psychologist and her family, doctors and Surgeon. I know exactly what you mean. Or possibly a glimpse. Here it is a very sketchy assortment as well. I am never surprised at the people that reside in that profession....the practice.

I think it came down to who was the strongest lobbiest alcohol or marijuana around the 1920's alchol won....I dont think it is more dangerous, I think now that they have alcohol the mix of the two would be worse.
I think they rake a lot of money in from it, if they legalised it drug dealers wouldnt get rich would they. They must a lot of money trying to catch them???? not sure?
the laws certainly need to be looked at eg growing compared to dealing....
some use it medicinally, if it works well, I dont know I am not a doctor......
but jail for that drug compared to harder drugs is kinda wrong.....well as long as there not dealers....
Theres a big culture /war in the USA..on drugs ...whats with that? they must spend a lot of money...is it because they cant get tax off it??? I think thats got a lot to do with it?
