What guys like is irrelevant.
The overwhelming majority of women want nothing to do with men who aren't AT LEAST 3-4 inches taller than they are in heels + hair + headdress/hat/tiara, with 6'2 being the desired minimum.
Height of woman irrelevant, even the ones who're barely 5'nothing on tippy-toes want 6'2 guys.
Every once in a while, you come across a very tall girl (say, 5'10 or better) who has -albeit very, very grudgingly and with MANY misgivings - come to the extremely painful and frustrating realization that her quest for a very much taller mate may forever go unrequited.
There simply aren't that many men who are 7' or taller.
A few of these girls throw in the towel and start dating men a little closer to their own height or maybe - GASP! The Shock! The Horror! The Abomination! - even shorter.

Personally, I have no problem approaching tall girls, but I do know that my chances are pretty close to nil and that I'm basically trying to pet a shark.

I'm only a wee guy at 5'7, and height is one of the first things I look at in a profile. Preferably smaller or same height is what I'm after

well - kind of a shrimp here at 5-4 - almost 5-5 tho!! I will date a man who is under 6 ft - as long as he is close to my height at least - I have met men who are 5-7 and 5-8 who are really cute and nice. To care about their height...? I really don't, but since I am only 5-5 (almost) I am fortunate because a lot of men want their date to be shorter than them

My preference is towards taller women but it really depends on the whole package. I have been in successful relationships with women on the shorter side. So it's all relative I suppose.
