ttom500: I would say the way President Obama cut NASA funding he was the one with the lack of confidence in the science and technical abilities of NASA. Shoot, Dude....the Moon is less travel time to Earth (only three day flight in space) than a drive across the United States (five days).
You don't need to make roads.....bridges.....and there are no Chevy Volts stalled on the side of the road to assist. When you travel to the moon.
If this President had any 'real vision' and wanted to spur job creation and give the country a economic edge in the world competitive economy of tomorrow....he would have made the moon a goal for the next administration.
Instead......we are buying tons of lithanium.....not the kind you take for mental illness....but the kind you use for power cells from China that has 90% of the world's lithnium manufacturing. That is crazy and needs to end ASAP.
Guess what? Sitting on my work bench is the advanced fuel cell....not a grain of lithanium is in it. We are thinking of calling it the McCain Cell.......in honor of John McCain.
Do you want to know a funny story here. After I fifured out how it work....I sent the plans to McCain. He took them to Chevy Volt....and they were in contact with me within a week. Then GM went bad....and Obama won the 2008 election.
I then showed a Obama DoE manager the designs of the advanced fuel cell. I figured we would get a SBIR grant for sure to develop it. NADA....not a word back from Obama DoE. So I went on to other things.
About four months ago....I got chance to self fund the development and prototyping of the Advanced Fuel Cell. I thought I would have it done by now. But ran in to materials sourcing problems....that has slowed it up for a couple of months.
Should be done in later Sept or early Oct. then some testing. Then I am taking it to Washington.....and plan to meet with McCain to make it public with his name on it. And of course to share this story all over again in the media.....just prior to the 2012 election.

AS for Romney maintaining McCain voters......8% have shifted. Again with a plus or minus 3. So a range of 5% to 11% have shifted.
