It went to the heart of what this country is about. Is it a country of government mandates or is it a country of individual choices. On the side of government mandate is most of the liberal thinkers in the world. Make a big government to solve the problems of the people.
On the side of the freedom of choice, is the Constitutionalist and liberitarian of the world. People have a right to choose and to make even make bad choices. It is a live and learn world.
I fall in the later group. A strong believer that you live and learn. That your freedom to decide what is right for you and yours, out weights the knowledge and power of a government with experts.
What ever the Supreme Court ruling is. This issue will return in the future. DEMs will continue to make it a cause de celbrey. REP will stand opposed. June is the summer hiring month....as colleges are out and firms hire summer help. But with only 80,000 made. Looks like many college students have plenty of time to spend at mom and dad's or the camp out for the summer at the local OWS camp.
Even the Federal government laid off. Down 4,000 jobs. States cut 1,000
and local government hired 4,000.
I will remind all...no US incumbant President has been re-elected with a unemployment rate over 7%.
