Yep, I rarely drink myself and there's nothing worse then being with someone who you can't even talk to because he is too polluted.
Wouldn't date someone like that actually.
Nothing wrong with the occasional drink if someone can handle it.

I would date someone who doesn't drink! t is better in my opinion to date someone who doesn't drink than to date a drunkard.

I gave a qualified no in response to your poll. If they are a recovering alcoholic I would not be a good person for them to have around. Additionally, They may have personal reasons for not drinking and may be a bit judgemental. So I'm cautious.

Yeah I agree with you ellimere, I gave up alcohol not because of anything bad, just because I didnt feel the need to drink either and I need to stay fit & healthy cause of my training. I've also heard people say you can't trust someone who doesn't drink

they only say that because we remember everything , iv been told i dont need to drink , im lively enough with out it !!
even when i did drink , i didnt drink very much , i found that getting plastered every weekend , was just boring ! i prefere to do other things !

I would absolutely date someone who doesn't drink because I don't drink.
During my life, I've seen enough of what the drink can do to families and since my biological parents were both alcoholics, I felt it to be in my best interests to stay away from it.

Yeah it makes me wonder since people develop such a reliance on alcohol at a young age, mostly to get lively and boost confidence, but does that later turn into using alcohol to deal with other things in life like stress or depression, and someone drunk while emotionally unstable can become abusive or worse.

It's different here...and I met women who I don't care to meet again...if they are totally sober and can only talk about their kid(s) and bash their EX ...if they are intoxicated I can understand...but sober...NO! We should have dreams and aspirations, potential future together, mutual interests, goals, possible future together. etc. A bottle of wine while chatting goes a long way towards ...a common bond. And a couple smiles!!

I am not a drinker, and do not have ISSUES, but have dated a couple who drank too much for my liking.
I do date men who drink but a couple oof drinks is enough as far as I am concerned. I definitely don't date smokers. However, I don't understand the social stigma of being a non-drinker. I find it reflects an issue the other person has rather than myself.
I don't come across it often, thank heavens, but do not feel it is any more strange than the fact I don't eat oysters or steak. I have been told I am fantastic company and a scintillating dinner companion.....so I don't feel it is an issue.

I can't handle my drink. One glass of wine and I strat slurring my words an walking into things. I do like a glass of wine, but rarely in front of people, more like curled up with a book at lazy times.
It wouldn't be an issue not to do that and be with a non-drinker, whatever the reason.
